    Gear Grind Now or Later?

Just like the title says, I'm bored and was hoping to switch to Holy on my alt Paladin and do some PVP. However is it worth it to grind all that honor now, or should I wait until around 5.2 to get Malevolent?

Unsubscribe until 5.2. Impossible to catch up before then. Also don't miss a week once 5.2 comes or you'll be behind for another 5 months.

The gap will only get bigger as seasons go on. PvP power is a massive detriment to anyone starting out in PvP

WoW PvP; Where DPS are healers, tanks are DPS, and healers are tanks!

5.2 is quite the distance away

I'm looking forward to the end of next or the season after. Just think about people coming fresh from leveling against those with tens of thousands of PvP power. Good times, good times.

I would do it now, I did it late in Cata, and holy balls it was painful.

Depends, i did it recently and managed to get every piece of honour gear within a day, but that was when CTA was a battle ground i enjoyed (Kotmogu). Unless a CTA comes up that you enjoy soon then id just wait till 5.2 before grinding seriously. Ive pretty much stopped doing arena now because i started too late, im going to grind the malevolent gear the day it becomes available for honour then try to make sure to cap conquest everyweek from the new arena season.

Unless you can achieve a 3k+ cap, you really won't be able to catch up before the end of the season.

I didn't unsubscribe, but I'm not grinding bgs/arenas because the sentiment above is true.

Average season length is 28 weeks and the first season of an xpac is usually the shortest. We're 14 weeks into this season. You need ~42,000 conquest to cap out (rough number). You'd need to be earning 3k conquest per week to complete your set before the end of the season. Roughly 1900 rbg rating. That is, of course, assuming the season lasts another 14 weeks. Which it probably won't.

Basically, unsub until 5.2. Make sure you put the reason clearly in your unsub statement. The new conquest system is comically stupid when it comes to alts.

Save your time and wait for 5.2 imo.

The conquest weapon is virtually equal in PVP power to your entire dreadful glad set. And assuming the starting player caps 1800 every week, that's 5 weeks before seeing a T1 weapon.

The gearing system is stupid as hell. I have 2 90s just benched, I'm itching to play them but there's just not much point till next season. That weapon is literally gamebreaking for alts.

Not to mention that every single item can now be upgraded making people that miss a week sometime fall behind even if they got the full set of epics.

Yeh just drop this 30 hrs into grind, then enter arena and get your face bashed in by malevolent geared dudes. After you can try to join RBG team, but your efforts will be in vane becouse nobody needs blue geared toons now. Yeh good advice... Carry on.

There is always the reason to play your char to become better at it and not just gear it?
Even if you dont "catch up" it is still important to become more skilled on your class.

I would get as many malevolent-pieces as possible because that will reduce the amount of malevolent
pieces to get next season from honor

    Should I wait too?

I'd like to pvp with my rogue, but I do lack weapons and gear. Gear doesn't bother me all too much, but my 463/427 daggers do. I've done some bgs at 90 and it was a complete pain due to this feeling of complete uselessness brought on by 10k backstabs, and I'm not sure I can aids myself through gaining 7k CP just to buy daggers esp when I'm only doing random bgs
