Ambient and relaxation music has always had a special place in my heart. Goes pretty much every place as a back music. Walking or reading book or at work. Often also after hard workout it's just - perfect. I guess I could give thanks some old composers for PC/Amiga games and synthesizer super heros like Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre, Jan Hammer etc.

There are insanely much chillout/ambient artists now days that it's more cheap to get computers and software. Anyway I must give big credits for Steve Roach, Pete Namlook, Robert Rich, Jonn Serrie.

The Caretaker's An Empty Bliss Beyond This World

Super relaxing for me. Definitely suggest it.

Ambient Progressive/Deep Progressive usually does it for me. Deep Fog is currently at the top for me though.

4:00+ on "Fear" is just astonishing, worth a listen for that part alone.

I find much of the music I listen to chilling, especially in the indie folk genre, but I also have a lot of slow lo-fi electronica, which is amazing.

Yet, the one artist I will recommend is an Australian artist named Oliver Tank. He hasn’t released much of his stuff, but I am completely won over by his musical universe.

Anything by Enya usually calms me down. Especially that in the LotR soundtrack.

I found two really great channels for relaxing music, first being Orchestral Design (more variety, not just relaxing music)

and second being TheDashDub, who is almost entirely soft, relaxing music, the sort of thing you might listen to going to sleep.

If you're not a pony fan, it doesn't matter, they're orchestrals, just sit back and listen.

I always find Enigma relaxing. This is my favourite of theirs:

I really love the Native American style music aswell. Theres an amazing album called Sacred Spirit which was done by a German composer and he did a damn good job. I find it very relaxing.

What is relaxation music anyway? Isn't it purely a personal preference rather than some specific "genre"? Sure the kind of music some link here relaxes me but so does heavy metal.

    But anyways:

You don't necessarily need to like Skyrim for this, though it helps

Just watching this beautiful landscape with the background music.... I love it.
