Japan
Korea
Their inability to apologize for their atrocities acts against China and Korea during the height of their empire is causing problems to the point to where they want to get rid of the 1945 treaty and arm themselves far beyond their self defense force.Just because they don't engage in actual warfare doesn't make them a peaceful nation.

I've spent over 9 months in Tokyo, purely on vacation. I never once even considered visiting Korea during that time. Just going to Tokyo on a short trip is an experience you won't get anywhere. So much to do and see that is different from EU/US.
Well I really would like to see Tokyo once... So Id vote Japan.

One thing I've never understood.. why do you expect people from non-english speaking countries to speak english ? Do it like everybody else and bring a book of commonly used japanese sentences.
For me, it'd be Korea. HANDS DOWN. For most people it'd probably be Japan. For people not into any thing Asian culture it'd probably be Korea. That last part I say because my sister recently got a few travel guide books and Korea is much more highly recommended as a holiday destination than Japan, a lot of awesome sites to see there.
However my true recommendation will depend on when you go. Are you going sometime around Feb or april and will you be there on one of those dates, go to Japan and go to one of those concerts. DO IT!
If you're going outside of those dates, go to Korea Especially if you plan on going before feb, then you can see this somewhere. And probably afterwards too.
Honestly though if you're at all into Anime and things but not the Hallyu wave then go to Japan, if it's the other way around then go to Korea. If you're into neither and just want a good holiday I'd say go to Korea.
Some years back I would have said Japan too.
But watching some documentaries about that countrie changed my mind. Although the acient culture would be worth a travel stuff like J Pop or sick sexual fetishes like grabbing girls in a train and so on and the ofter the edge style detere me.
I havent heard much information about Korea but the WM left a good inpression and the people seem to be nicer (which might be a prejudice?) also hey have PSY
Korea released some highclass magas too btw and their Girls seem to look more beautiful :3

Naftc, "Hunters are the cheapest class in game and when played right are more deadly than a train plowing through a field of bunnies covered in napalm"
One thing to know about Korea. If you're white and go to Seoul, you won't need to learn any Korean really. Most people will try to speak English with you because they want to learn English and when they see people that probably know English they'll want to speak English with you
What?
Unless you just mean K-pop is better, then high five!
I'm going to blow all your minds here....
Cracked isn't a reliable source. One guy who lives in Japan is worth no more weight than another guy who lives or has lived in japan. He can be wrong.
@Uriel while SK has a reputation for more beautiful people in asia (ofcourse it's down to preference and anecdotal evidence if you were to go yourself on holiday) playing into western horror stories about Japan is just insulting. I remember some comedian in the west stating he likes groping girls on trains and obviously he's joking. Japan isn't a pornhub anymore than anywhere else.

In the long term I wanted to say: Yes I think K Pop is better than J pop. For me the whole over the edge J Pop (and J rock btw) turns me off. The things i listed are ment as a argument against a trip to Japan and thus in favor for korea. Maybe I am wrong because I dont have much interest in both but from what I heard so far K Pop is much more enjoyable than J Pop.
I am sorry If I wrote confusing things: english aint my first language and sometimes it is hard to express what I am thinking :-r

I'd love to visit either. I'm torn between the two as well. I voted Korea though, because of StarCraft
