How come black people have darker gums?

I don't really find caucasian people having a pink skin color, I also wouldn;'t consider gums being pink really but i guess that depends on the gums?
From the pictures i linked the womans gums are quite near her actual skin color

Well; I don't really think congoid people have black skins, and yet everyone calls them 'black.' Why nót call caucasians 'pink?' As far as colours go, we use no proper words in our every-day vocabulary to describe a race's skin tone.
Hell; we might as well start calling people 'purple.'

Anyway; the question has been answered. Usually, people have no pigment in their gums. Some people, however, do. Congoid people, and other darker-hued people, have more pigment, so it's more noticeable when their pigment does overflow in their gums, or underneath their fingernails. Having dark spots in your gums is no more prevalent in coingoids than it is in caucasoids, or mongoloids... It's merely more noticeable.

It's called Melanin hyper-pigmentation and is just the result of having very much melanin (the stuff that gives skin, eyes and hair the color - if you have none you are an albino with red eyes (color of the blood vessles in the eyes) ).

Some people are so insecure about that dark gum that they use laser depigmentation surgery

This is whats wrong with the world nowadays. People are too sensitive.... I know a black guy, and he doesn't mind jokes bashing black people. he laughs with people aslong as its obviously not ill intented like my joke.

I'm black and I don't find it offensive at all. I often get honest questions about why black people like grape soda, watermelon, if running fast is natural, etc.
People are curious, not all are racist.

Everyone in my family loves grape soda, strawberry soday (my sister loves it). I believe it's because the majority of blacks enjoy sweeter tastes. I for example can't drink black coffee, or normal tea. It's got to be sweeter then ever.
And I never worked towards it, but I ran varsity track in high school as a sprinter, I'd show up to practice with a burrito and soda.

Of course everyone is different and have their own opinions and tastes.

I honestly think the whole black stereotype is = to the southern white stereotype. As far as stereotypes go , both like fried chicken, watermelon, collard greens, corn bread (sometimes fried) and lots of soda. I know my friends family fits that stereotype and they're white. I also remember watch a minstrel show on youtube and they were imitating blacks. I found it very interesting that most of the stereotypes of the blacks could be applied (and often are) to white southerners.

I also remember something quite comical, a friend of mine (we were around 10-13 at the time) was black and recently had his aunt around and had his hair dread locked and it. was. fucking. amazing! I asked him if it was possible it could be done to me and he just lol'd a bit at me still makes me smirk from time to time

His reaction to it was very funny he said it was soft like sheep's wool and then became embarrassed because he compared it to sheep's wool. I am black/indian. I am for all intents and purposes black, I am like a medium/yellow tone and I burn VERY easily. I hate the summer. I didn't have sunscreen and was in a car with direct sunlight on me and my face and I broke out in a rash and eventually I burned and my arms got burned.
