[Resto] druid, switching from 10man to 25; spirit question!

Hello. I have raided a couple of expansions in 10man now, and am gonna switch to 25man next week with my new guild. I'm right now at 7,8k spirit unbuffed (int food+flask), and in 10man this amount was more than enough. In fact I was finishing boss fights with nearly 50% mana left at last progressions. But I believe I'll need more in 25man version of things. Can someone give me an insight please, regarding how much more spirit I may need, and how much mana conservation I may require?

(haste reforge's a bit off im aware it's quick reforge in-raid due to item upgrade)

    Thank you all^_^

Your question is absolutely trivial if you are raiding normals. In heroic content, 7.8k spirit is way too low, unless you are outgearing some MSV heroics. With 7.8k spirit on 10man heroic garalon you probably can't even heal half of the duration of the fight. On normal mode you can spam moonfire while you are yawning and end the fight with 100% mana.

We have 8 heroics down on 25man, and our resto druid runs with 6.6k spirit, and flasks for int. He's also probably our least mana-starved healer, so I think it really depends on your raid style.

The best healer is not the one who has the most mana at the end of the fight but the one who did everything they could to ensure victory. I would not boast about having 50% mana at the end of a fight when there is a paladin at 2% mana significantly ahead of me in healing done.

Stacking more Spirit isn't the solution for healing in 25's. You can run with 7-8k Spirit and be fine as long as you have decent regen trinkets. You'll get more output from concentrating on Intellect and other throughput stats and just being smarter about your healing choices. Just remember that with 25's you can't blanket the entire raid with Rejuv like you can in a 10-man.

we're gonna be doing heroics; did msv 4/6 hc + hof 1/6 hc up to now with this amount of spirit and was quite okay topping hps with 50% mana left. i believe i don't have to change much, just my habit of blanking

Yep, the more mana you end with at the end of the fight -- the more spirit you've wasted that could have been other stats. No reason to be at 100% mana at the end of a fight.
