Found this serie on youtube while browsing videos, pretty neat.
A couple(Swede and New Zealander) blagged a sponsorship from InterRail and goes through Europe. Wish I'd come up with the idea! ;P

Short clips but still a nice glance on how one can get around the continent and see some beautiful and cool places.

They start in Dublin and end their trip in Helsinki(there are a few other countries, the baltics for example, but they were not part of the train challange), here is the videos in the order they traveled.

I still want to see a travel video to Norway that doesn't equal a trip to Oslo. Finnmark is beautiful, why not go there?

Yeah, no idea what finnmark is like, but people should probably go on a cruise if they really want to see Norway, the fjords is where it's at imo.

This is a "fuck yeah raidroads rock" thread, underestimated way to travel, and as shown in this serie, you can travel around the whole of Europe by train, more people should do it! InterRail is an awesome thing.

Nope, but InterRail etc is a great thing. It's the only way Railroad comes out cheaper then air travel really. At least here in Sweden it's rediculesly cheap to go by plane.

Ugh, Finland looks awfull. I kinda lolled when one of the visiting places was an Orthodox church that was build during Russian rule. Visiting it for finnish culture is like going to Sahara to look at North Pole pictures.

Really disappointed with Croatia's video. First of all, I'm at a loss as to why they went to the capital (Zagreb) which, while being interesting, is nowhere near Dubrovnik as a tourist destination. Second, i hate it when they put national music in these kind of videos while essentially it's embarrassing village music that civilized Croatians consider equally foreign as any foreigner.

So silly. Using Oslo as the view of Norway is as stupid as using Dublin as the view of Ireland, not to mention other transgressions.

900 days isn't enough, but 90 days is still a fair amount of time. My first trip to Europe was 14 days and I spent time in 5 countries, and traveled through a few more. It was the best international experience I'd had up until that time, though I've done far more since then.

It may be cheaper to go by plane, but if you're traveling for the joy of travel and experience, trains are a much more enjoyable way to see the countryside, relax in a comfortable chair, enjoy some vodka with people you met in the city you're leaving, etc. I met 3 people in Prague in my hostel, for example that were all leaving for Berlin at the same time I was. We had a blast just drinking vodka and telling stories on the train while watching the German rivers and forests and villages go by. That never would have happened on a plane.

Yeah, which is why I made this thread, it's a great way to get around. But since air travel is so cheap I don't think that many people consider it as an alternative when they are on vacation. It's sad really ;P

It's not so much about the videos, but the means of travel, the videos isn't that great.
