Clear evidence that you know NOTHING about hardware... The WiiU is barely at the same level than PS360.

Sounds like a waste of money if that's how strong it is. Not to mention the concept of WiiU is silly to.

Doesn't matter how strong a console is but how fun it can be, so far i've had a lot of fun with the Wii (haven't bought WiiU yet) with my friends but when looking at the Xbox all I see is hardcore fps wannabe with CoD games when they can't even play Counter strike .-.

As i said, you share the same thoughts as i did. Then i played one and it totally changed my opinion. The controllers look "stupid" imho, but they work incredibly well and are extremely innovative.

Multiplayer Wii-U is very good fun. I wont buy one because i an an Xbox 360 lover and alot of my friends play cod and they will all buy the 720, same as me. But ye, dont knock the wii-u, if i had more money and more gaming time with friends, this console owns and i wouldnt hesitate to buy.

What's the point of the hardware if it's going to be boring?
In terms of flexibility, I'd prefer Wii U over the others. There's a lot more possibilities, and just the fact that they're more able to have 3rd party developers accessibility just nulls the fact that you need to own another console aside from exclusives.

We're going to actually need to see 2160i/p that are affordable and not cost up to 5k if it was to be at that resolution. This is presuming it also doesn't do an upscale. Else the 2160 res is going to be useless and just be downscaled.
Not to also mention that there's just billions of rumors flying about.

the wiiu is around 30 to 45% more powerful than the ps3 and can run games in 1080p at 60 fps something neither the 360 or the ps3 is even capable of.

nintendo asked all developers to make launch window games in 720p to get them out asap to prevent another 3ds launch lineup issue reggie fils-amie confirmed this at last years e3 during an interview where he stated the wiiu will run games at 1080p however none of the launch titles will be in 1080p for the reason stated above.

barely at the same level? hardly the wiiu is definitely stronger in nearly everyway, a big leap? no its not that either. it is however a step up dont let a few shitty ports like mass effect 3 dissuade you

Source? I don't know the exact specs, but I'm willing to bet it's at least slightly more powerful than the 7th gen consoles. Trine 2, for example, looks better on the Wii U than the PS360, and that's a launch day port. It can only get better from there.

This. If those consoles can run things at Witcher 2 high setting graphics at a respectable frame rate (45-60 fps) then honestly I don't give an eff if they're far behind PC's.

I just don't want it to be like Skyrim on the ps3 where the damn game looks worse than medium level pc graphics and constantly runs below 20 fps.

I don't really see a point in improving game systems at this point. We don't need graphics better than what we have, they are fine.

and its obvious that you have never played on the WiiU.

    OP.

I seriously doubt that the next gen console are gonna be anywhere close to the leap that the Xbox360 and Ps3 where for the older consoles.

Consoles are severely lacking in gpu power nowadays especially in comparison to their PC counter parts. If we're talking aesthetics though then yea, graphics are fine, but only for very few games like: Borderlands, Zelda, WoW and the like. Games like Skyrim or Mass Effect don't look all that great on PC.

im actually pretty surprised that almost everyone seems to agree with me O-O pretty much everywhere else where i see anything involving power come up it ends up a pssing contest between "whos teh omega powafuls that the other will lick teh feetz of" i guess the pc master race has more sense O-O

Everyone knew that the upgrade from 360 > 720 would not be anywhere close of that from xbox > 360. So many issues with the 360 were caused by heat issues, and cooling methods have not really advanced in the last 10 years to much. They could add things like water blocks but the idea of a console is to keep the cost down. So the next-gen consoles will be around a low-mid ranged pc atm, nothing special but remember games are normally quiet well optimized for consoles, so you would get more performance out of one of those consoles, then you would a low-mid ranged PC atm.

That said, a breakthrough is really needed in processing technology. It's getting to the point where we are just adding more cores to a CPU and hoping developers will make their programs support these ever growing cores.

Graphics aren't the only thing that improve with better hardware. Amount of objects on screen, frames per second, physics, A.I., etc all have lots of room for improvement.

You'd be an idiot to compare consoles to PCs - you can't expect a next-gen console to have the absolute latest in graphics card, or w/e, to computers of today, simply because the timeline of making the console would already set "newest hardware" back a fair bit before it's finally released, making those components kinda outdated by then...

The PC industy is ever ongoing in terms of upgrades and new hardware... consoles make do with what'll last for years.

There'll come a time when graphics have already reached their peak as lilfe-like as they'll ever get, and fps issues a thing of the past... maybe the only restriction being the capability of a processor calculating all the physics down to the most minuscule of details like grains of sand stacking up to create drifts, for example.

I don't necessarily need better graphics. I want consoles that are ABLE to run current graphics high resolution in both screen quality and textures while holding up to 60 FPS and having actually decent FoV so the taint such things present on PC gaming would vanish.

Well, the latter 2 are software. Amount of objects is RAM and Processor, FPS basically need the overall package of everything.

Graphically, we're in a decent place. Could be better (as PC), but not as important as the below:

AI, rendering multiple objects on screen, physics etc... there's a lot of room for improvement there for consoles.
To declare that a personal, inner experience gives certainty about the workings of the universe is to assign far too much value to one’s subjective sense of conviction.
    I’m not that arrogant.

what a biased way to ask a question.

But yea, I agree with people that next gen. consoles cannot compete with computer games anymore given the state of technology in computers.

I also prefer keyboard>controllers any day. I still don't know how ppl can play COD on console with a controller...

Here is a Quote about it
There's more Crysis 3 gameplay footage to ogle today, picking up with Prophet creeping through tall fronds of swaying grass, as he's hunted by the Ceph. Packing a formidable arsenal however, it's not long before the tables are turned, and the Nanosuit wearing super soldier is blowing up the alien aggressors with grenades and impaling them with arrows.

Teaming up with skinhead Cockney geezer, Michael 'Psycho' Sykes, Prophet soon finds an unconventional escape route, leading to an explosive getaway and a fitting finale for the six minutes of gameplay on show.

Give the trailer a watch now, and look out for Crysis 3 on February 19th, 2013 in North America and February 21st, 2013 in Europe.
I'm not a crisis fan *to me the story is lame* but the graphic's of this game looks amazing and as the quote shows there pushing the current gen systems to there max.

I personally think it will get to a point where graphic's won't improve a lot but more CPU/RAMM will be needed for games like this or even ones better then it.

Like the next battlefield game getting made for next gen consoles. Its going to get to a point with consoles where the next gen verson is just for more power so you can have more things on screen/blowing up ect....

Edit: Also about the Wii-U comments Nintendo came out and said its CPU/GPU power is about 20% higher then the ps3 and hardware wise the PS3 was leading the way for console's.
