I dont care much for mists. I really think blizzard could have done better with it.

I think Cata was better than mists...IKR, crazy!!

What i had most fun in? Vanilla > Wotlk > MoP/Cata > TBC
But the game only progresses so the "best" expansions would be MoP > Cata > Wotlk > TBC > Vanilla
Don't get me wrong, ive had fun through all expansions of wow, thats why i keep playing it, and the fun factor came mostly from who i played with but the game keeps adding more and more stuff, i really don't think most players now would ever play on vanilla for very long now if it was avalible because it was so much farming, so hardcore in end raids and so little of the convenient stuff like dungeon finder/LFR, i mean you could be "LF1M Healer UBRS" for hours and hours just for that 1 run sometimes.

    MoP > Vanilla > TBC > Cata > Wrath

Yes, I counted Vanilla in, bitch and moan all you want about "Vanilla isn't an expansion, urrrrrr". I also think it's worth mentioning that I judge each expansion from how good it was at its time, how much I enjoyed it back then, of course disregarding any nostalgic feelings in the process. If there's one thing I can admit myself that I'm good at, it is looking past nostalgia and see how the shit really is.

WotLK was just... You know what? I don't really feel like bitching much about it anymore, I've complained so much about this stupid mess on this forum that I'll just quickly talk over it. The lore was atrocious, ruined so many memorable characters, especially Dr. Claw, Regular Henchman #1 and Skeletor (see if you can figure out who is who). The raid content sucked, sucked, sucked, rocked, sucked and sucked. The dungeons were too easy AND annoying at the same time, the only decent one was Oculus, and people hated it for whatever reason, it was the only dungeon I liked. All the magic of WoW was sucked out in this expansion, and some of the shit this expansion left behind still sits on the game. The easiest way to describe Wrath was that it was a mess, lore-wise, content-wise, everything was a mess. For me, the whole purpose of Wrath was to get rid of some extremely stupid tests that Blizzard put the game through, but it made this expansion suffer A LOT, and it's the only incarnation of the game I didn't enjoy the slightest.

Cataclysm is really hard to judge for me, because it launched off as the best thing that ever happened to WoW, but crashed just as fast as it fixed the mess that WotLK left behind. The lore once again became a mess, but this time ruining a much better character than the Lich King, Deathwing, and that really bring this expansion down A LOT. Dragon Soul still stands to me as the worst raid in the whole game. One the other hand, it had some really kickass raids to start with, like Blackwing Descent and Firelands, even if they were too short. The dungeons suffered a lot too, once 5.1 hit the dungeon experience was ruined. However, on launch it had the most enjoyable dungeons I've ever played in the game. Half bad, half good, it ended on a bad note and left me with a bad taste in my mouth, but on launch it was simply amazing. Hard to judge, but I did my best.

The Burning Crusade took everything about Vanilla and put it on steroids, it pumped the raids and dungeons to be better, but also had BIG side effects. Outland wasn't even half as intriguing as Azeroth, there wasn't as big a reason to go out into the world anymore, the whole expansion turned out to be a Blood Elf expansion rather than a Demon expansion, and it was very bad at representing its main character, Kael'thas came off more as the expansion baddie than Illidan. It also introduced dailies, which I honestly can't say I'm happy it did. The Isle of Quel'danas was also pretty horrible. However, the PvE content is what made it good. It had still to this day the largest amount of raid bosses in any expansion, and this isn't a case of quantity over quality, because the bosses were of quality too. Black Temple is my favorite of the expansion, it really kicked the standard up a lot. Heroic dungeons were hard as balls, too hard yes, but still better than too easy. Overall it was pretty good, but while it fixed a bunch of bullshit from Vanilla it opened that space to introduce other bullshit instead, and overall I just liked the feel of Vanilla better than the otherworldly feel of TBC. However, it is only a teeny tiny bit behind Vanilla.

Vanilla was when I joined (durr), I liked it, and part of it comes from the fact that you never knew what to expect. One patch would be the Black Dragonflight, another one would be about the Gurubashi trolls, and another one about the Scourge, it was so diverse, and it made it much more exciting when they announced the content of the next patch. Of all the stages that Warcraft has been in this has had to be the one which felt the most like the RTS games in spirit too, it's the Horde vs Alliance conflict that's the centerpiece while all of these different monsters attack us from right and left at the same time. It is also the only time I can think of when a PvE player could do PvP at the same time, and vice versa. However, with that said, it has A LOT of faults too. It had so much stupid grinding, leveling was grinding, dailies were nothing but grinding, even raids had you grind trash mobs to get that stupid resistance gear. A lot of stupid and illogical design choices were the big flaws of this part of the game, the worst would probably be how they handled the different specs, how Balance Druids were utterly useless, how Enhancement Shamans were forced to get Nightfall and that'd be their weapon until TBC, etc. Still great for its time though, and it also remains the incarnation of WoW which was the most adventurous, and thus it's my second favorite stage of WoW.

MoP is without a doubt my favorite expansion, it feels more complete than the rest of the expansions (and it hasn't even finished), it has much more to do, it has such a rich world to explore, and by far most of the problems that it had to begin with have been fixed in patches. My only complain would be that the launch raids were pretty weak (With the exception of Mogu'shan Vaults), and the dungeons are too easy. It makes up for that with rich world exploration, I have loved so mcuh killing all the rares of Pandaria and finding all the lore scrolls, and I'm really happy how they're handling the rares on the Isle of Thunder, it's by far the best daily quest hub the game has ever had, because there's so much more to do other than daily quests. Speaking of the Isle of Thunder, Throne of Thunder is my favorite raid ever, they did well at hyping up Lei Shen, and boy did the whole place meet expectations, every boss is good, and the majority of the bosses actually rank up as being fucking amazing. Then there's also the world bosses which were reintroduced, this time regular players actually get to do them, and I gotta say, I haven't seen my server unite this well as when Oondasta spawns, it feels like we're finally making server efforts again. Oh, and did I mention that for the first time in the game's history it has introduced good lore? I was expecting this to be the worst shit in WoW's history, but it turned out to be the best thing to ever happen to the game, and even if I'm still not too fond of Pandaren, I gotta admit, it's still the best WoW has ever been.

MFW I realized reading this thread that in a couple of years all the bimbos who started playing wow with cata will say that mop is the best expansion ever (if they're not already saying it)...

    Raids:
TBC > WotLK > Cata (Not raided much els then LFR in MoP so cant judge it)

    Dungeons:
TBC > WotlK > Cata > MoP (I realy loved the TBC dungeons found them great fun. but i found most xpac dungeons fun. MoP ones was also pretty fun just to few of them and got boring pretty fast)

    Keeping You Busy:
MoP > TBC > Wotlk > Cata (There is always something to do in MoP from dailys to LFR/LFG scenarios)

    Casual-Friendly:
Cata > Wotlk > MoP > TBC (there was not much to do in cata and that was good if you did not play it much. and the raids was pretty casual friendly on normal mode the reason i put WotLK over MoP is there can be so much to do in MoP for a Casual player that it is just to much)

    Hardcore-Appealing:
TBC > MoP > WotLK > Cata (TBC was a realy hardcore xpac and even to much if you ask me i perf how MoP is going to be honest)

    Other content:
MoP > WotLK > TBC > Cata (Just love everything from scenarios to some of the dailys quests in MoP even hunting on rares is fun

    Overall:
MoP > TBC = WotLK > Cata (i just love where MoP is going all of it just looks realy good some of it is done better in other xpacs. But over all MoP dont realy have anything super bad about it)

    Best: WotLK

    Worst: Cata

WotLK had pretty much everything the best, while Cata had everything the worst. Best explanation ever?
