Interesting read of a very indepth analysis of hordes, especially orc's, view of world. After reading that i found myself agreeing it on most part.
Maybe because i have played orc character for 8 years.
But then again as entertaining read as it was i dont think lorewriters at blizzard think those things so profoundly.
Interesting article. Nice to see the first grey conflict in a long time evoking more than just "the faction I happen to like more is unequivocally right in all it does."
It was a little less ambiguous (Horde-side, at least) from my character's point of view. He'd personally interacted with Aethas Sunreaver; he had heard from the guy's own mouth how much he valued neutrality and despised Garrosh. Freeing him from imprisonment, slaying Silver Covenant goons, and giving genuinely perplexed Sunreaver citizens a way out of the city wasn't much of a moral quandary for my patriotic Blood Knight.

I disagree. There were no innocent casulties, only people that resisted arrest were put in any harm. If you see Jaina go through the streets you'll notice her teleporting people, not killing them. And if you're going to object to innocents being arrested, well, innocents got killed in Theramore, they didn't even get the choice to be arrested or leave the place.
im glad the article uses the worgen perspective
racist blood elves, basing the entire alliance on 1 guy. Who gives a damn about garithos.
A nice read.
Pretty similar to my opinion on it, although I admit as a person I perhaps feel more sympathetic to Jaina than Matt does in his article for better or worse.
It's funny how I didn't even think about Jaina's power until I read that. Yeah she kinda demolished Aethas and his guards.
And yet Jaina is doing the same thing here, as did Varian condemn all the orcs in the same school, perhaps not now since he's mellowed.
If Jaina has a right to condemn all blood elves for the actions of a few, then the blood elves are owed the same right to hold it against the alliance for what Garithos did.

Varian "All dem's orcs are monster and need to diez"
Garithos "All those disgusting none humans are scum and should be wiped out"
Silver hand "All magic users are demon worshipers and need to be cleansed"
I see a trend forming here.
Also, since it was a few individuals who did so, why should an entire race be held accountable for what a few did. The blood elves were beginning peace negotiations with stormwind until a small group following Garrosh, unbeknownst to anyone else, did the crime.
It swings both ways.

varian is an individual
garithos was an individual
the silverhand is ur only fair point and i agree
the entire blood elf mentaltiy in game is garithos = entire alliance.
also to think that small group got there work done. to think they got over all them precaution that must have been put in place after the first incident
So. If I blow up the underside of Dalaran, would it stop floating?
Again with the same story?
The only thing that has made Jaina is what she should have done long ago: defend the interests of the Alliance in an active way. Now Jaina herself can be considered a proud heroine of the Alliance.
Finally the Kirin Tor and the High Elves are at the head of the Alliance, where always they should have been...
