Noticing a plethora of more mages picking up blacksmithing. Any specific benefits of blacksmithing over enchanting?

Enchanting just gives +int on rings where as BS sockets can be filled with any gem.
With the current stat weights for arcane and fire, secondary stats are pulling ahead of primary stats, such as haste/mastery for arcane and crit for fire so gemming 2x 320 haste gem is going to be worth more to many mages than the int to rings.

Thanks. At work so I can access MMO-C (but funny enough, not other WoW related sites) - anyone have a good site to level up Blacksmithing?

Blacksmith is always better at the end of an Extension with the Epic gem.
A lot of mage change to Bl over Jewel at 4.3.

I dont have access to a Miner so how long/how much gold would it take to get to 600
