Okay as is or go for overclocking?

I am building a new system and want to be able to play on ultra settings. I am not sure if I will need to overclock any of the components to do so in mists. Also if anyone sees anything obviously wrong with my proposed build please let me know.

Secondary Hard Drive-Western Digital 1tb HDD
    Ram-Kinsgton Hyperx 16gb (4x4gb) quad channel 1600mhz
    Optical Drive-Asus 24x Sata DVD-RW
    Case-Cooler Master Elite

    1) Do you need an i7? It is not faster for gaming.
    2) Do you need a 512gb SSD?
    3) Do not get a Raidmax power supply. Period. I will bet you $5 it will be DOA. Get a reliable brand.

I play on Ultra at 60FPS in most 10 mans (30 on a bad day) with an AMD FX-6100 3.3ghz Six-core and bad graphics card (Radeon 6670), so I would assume that you could run fairly well with an i7 and a 7970. Also, i'd suggest a smaller SSD for cheaper with your OS/important programs to be more cost effective, but that's just me.

Those are good points, I could save quite a bit by going with the i5 and associated mb, also I could prob get by with a 256gb ssd. And thanks for the warning about the power supply.

Cardinal rule - NEVER CHEAP OUT ON PSU!!!!!!!! - especially since you seem to have TONS of extra money to burn lol....

No, you won't need to overclock.

WoW on ultra doesn't require anything even remotely close to what you've got there. I don't know what else you'd be using it for, but let's just say I recently did a build that runs WoW at 60fps on absolute highest settings that cost about the same as your CPU alone.

you also wont even tap into the potential of the 7970 with wow, if thats what you play? im assuming you play plenty of games to make use of that original system though...

Okay I have decided to change some of the specs from my original build based on suggestions from people. However I am not sure if I should stick with the radeon 7970, in order to try out more graphics intensive games, or to go with a cheaper alternative since I mainly play wow. New build is as follows.

    CPU-Intel i5 3570k 3.4ghz
    MB-Asus P8Z77-V LGA 1155
    Video Card-Radeon 7970 HD 3gb
    Primary Hard Drive-Crucial 256gb SSD
Secondary Hard Drive-Western Digital 1tb HDD
    Ram-Kinsgton Hyperx 16gb (4x4gb) quad channel 1600mhz
    Optical Drive-Asus 24x Sata DVD-RW
    Case-Cooler Master Elite
    CPU FAN-Noctua NH-D14 SE2011
    Monitor-Asus 23" 2ms 120hz LCD
    Power Supply -Thermaltake 730w

256Gb SSD seems a lot, with a Secondary HDD of one TB, I think you won't need more space.
Especially if you are only playing WoW
Personnaly I won't go for 16 GB of Ram, maybe 8 (Or 12 if its possible) If you are only gaming you don't need this.
I have the same CPU as you, and It's a very good one. You won't need to overclock, but you can do.

16GB of ram is fine, you will not ever utilize that fully just gaming, but it is dirt cheap and doesn't hurt anything to have more.
