Specifically, is anyone using this talent, and if so, when? Are you coupling w/ ascendance or tide or just using it as a 3rd cd? I'm looking at haste breakpoints and w/o AS the only one I'm not already at is the 5th tick of earthliving.

Just some basic math I took my earthliving heals during empress. It ticked 715 times for a total healing of 2,549,733. 715/5 = 143 earthliving procs. I figure if miss that haste breakpoint I'd be getting 4 ticks per, or 572 ticks. So 715*B = 2,549,733. B = 3,566.06 per tick of effective healing. With only 4 ticks per, I'd have 2,039,786.4 total effective healing.

Its a 9 minute fight, so I could use Ele Mastery 4 times for 80 seconds total of 30% increased haste.

If Earthliving procced 143 times, thats roughly 1 proc every 3.776224 seconds. 9 min fight is 540 seconds. Subtract the 80 = 460.

So it procs 121.8 times in the 460 seconds total ticks 4 ticks per or 487.23 ticks at 3,566.06 per = 1,737,491.41

During the 80 seconds of increased haste it would proc 21.2 additional times for 453,602.83 This totals out to 2,191,094.24

Earthliving with AS = 2,549,733 Earthliving with EM = 2,191,094.24

Further, I had something in the neighborhood of 40% - 50% overhealing due to its random nature. I would assume that the 6 tick earthlivings would happen during high damage spikes as that would be when I would activate EM.

Any thoughts?

I use EM and Berserking with HTT always. Usually I prep an Unleash first. Immediately after I use [HR] or [Asc-HR] depending on the fight and raid comp and raid size.

Next tier I'll use it moreso on CD, but I'll have to carefully plot out the fight so it'll be up for HTT.

you should because the amount of haste from berserk alone gives you 1 tick works 100% of the time every time

In most logs I'm actually getting 10 ticks. I gear for 12.5% haste, so it puts me at ~76% haste, which due to the well documented latency bug for HTT/HST probably gives me the "80% breakpoint".
