Makes sense with three freaking item grades in this tier.
Getting BIS is damn near impossible, unless you're cutting edge and already have 16/16 hc on farm.
On the other end of stick - there's more opportunities to upgrade gear in slots.

Not yet , still need a second weapon to drop which actually has a socket =P
Other then that very glad to see that at least the gem slots can be bought now Was hoping they'd patch that.

Probably not. They never put in a way to get a second Eye so they never bothered to put in a restriction against using multiple. Most likely an unintended side effect of making them purchasable without any extra work.
