Is that due to the amount you have seen, or that as you get older you find it less titillating due to more real life experiences? Perhaps a combination of both?

Interesting question, which I can answer very directly:

I'm 27 years of age and don't have practical experience. I've never even seen a real naked woman.
So the desensibilization I'm experiencing is purely related to images of persons.
I imagine that seeing a woman that is near and dear to your heart w/o clothes cannot really be compared to a depiction of a "photoshopped-perfect" random stranger.

Porn is considered dangerous/bad/terrible to children, all the while blowing people up, cutting "people" up to pieces is a-OK. I never understood what's so terrible about knowing how another member of our species looks like, how we reproduce, etc. Raising children to think it's bad to look at the other sex is hell of a lot more damaging.

There's a genetic predisposition for Type 2 Diabetes as well. If you take care of yourself and eat right, you can keep yourself from getting it. Same thing applies with addiction.

Does anyone see porn as free sex education? Sure its not what real sex is like, but if those horrible sex ed classes in schools were the only source of information on sex, kids will be leaving school not knowing where X goes in Y.

actually im the type that tends to try and follow the rules....so i didn't challenge my parents when they said no porn till im 18.i lived without it for that long and im still living so i guess it couldn't have been to bad.

well of course theres the biological part of us (men especially) that are inclined to mate and procreate. but this is a natural part of our species, not something artificial like meth or heroin that is designed to be addictive. porn is "entertainment" for one of our most base and inherent instincts. so no i don't think there is anything as real porn addiction, and again even if it was it's only YOU who can truly change that. you can send a drug addict to rehab but unless THEY want to change then there is no point in even trying.

I remember: we were supposed to program with Delphi. Interned was locked away. But someone found out, that if you pull up the help UI and ask a question it couldn't answer, it would open the locked away internet explorer for you and thus grant... unrestricted Internet access..

There was plenty of porn around when I was a kid. Also given that crime rates in the US have dropped dramatically in the last 40 years I find it hard to believe that we're not essentially on the right track.

It provides bad sexual education for teenagers who don't get it from a proper source, and follow on effects from this. That's about it.

Mmm, to be honest porn isn't a lot worse than the education you get in Sex Ed at school. Which is basically "DON'T EVER HAVE SEX YOU'LL GET PREGNANT GET AIDS AND DIE!!!". At least porn gives you some idea of how to enjoy it.

It's definitely bad from the whole encouraging guys to wear protection angle though.

Well I can understand why, I actually had a lot of female friends and would quite often go to their house. However I was always just a friend, so the condoms are probably still in my drawers at home!
