It's astonishing to see how many people are agreeing with the Empire and somehow think they are not evil.

It's even more funny to know how many of these empire supporters would die withing months of their crushing rule.

The game isn't like Warcraft where arguements can be made as to what faction is truely the evil/bad ones and which ones are good.

There can be some grey edges but it's pretty cut and dry who are the evil/bad ones and who are the overall good ones in swtor and Star Wars in general.

    They truly are.

There's no other way to still consider them sane if they truly believe they would be better off in a murderous, underhanded constant hate filled world of the empire. They are associating their angst with that and like to pretend it is giving them strength or something.

(I'm sure a person who has a yellow and pink horsey avatar would be the pinnacle of strength and authority in an empire world lol weeding out the "weak" and such)

I just think the empire would be a better place to live. First of all there would probably be very little if not any crime. Usually the Sith only murder those that stand in their way of attaining more power. I dont really see a Sith Lord walking into a random place full of people and going Colorado Movie Theater. They always have motives and usually its just about obtaining more power. I mean in huge corporations Im sure the same thing goes on just without the whole killing your way to the top thing. The Jedi just seem like a bunch of peace loving pushovers. Also Sith lords would be more paranoid about other Sith rising up and taking them out and probably wouldnt care that much about the normal people living under Imperial rule.

Also look at the newbie Republic planets. Both have refugees living on them and they all hate the Republic and for good reason as the Republic treats them like shit.

You ever read what the Emperor did to gain power, that's pretty much pure evil.

Starting multiply unprovoked wars is the very definition of evil....

Destroying whole planets (taris) just so the Republic loses moral is evil

Oh sure some individuals in the Republic may do some nasty stuff but with the Empire it isn't limited to some bad eggs.

What's funny about this post, is that the OP is most likely weak and would get killed as a child if he was born in the empire.

If you were in the empire and you made a mistake in your job, there is a possibility you will get killed for it. The Sith can also go round killing who the please and take slaves as they please, there is nothing stopping them.

I'm rather shocked (actually I'm not shocked, it's mmo champ mentality I'm dealing with here) reading through some replies, how people cannot understand how evil the sith are. Even through questing in the game, you meet lots of sick son of a bitches.

If you are a Sith, and you want promoted in your job, usually you gain promotion by back stabbing (as in killing a very cowardly way) the person above you. Imagine doing that in your workplace!

Live in the Sith Empire? If I were on the Dark Council then sure why not? Power corrupts and absolute power...is actually pretty cool

Seriously though, dictatorships, genocides, racism, elitism and inquisitions don't turn me on as much you'd think.

It would be better to be a begger in the empire then somebody in high position.

There is no place in society for the weak and worthless as they only make society as a whole weaker. So why are the Sith and the Empire as a whole considered bad? Also the whole comparing them to Nazis isnt exactly fair. The Sith dont discriminate against anyone, well other than the weak and useless. Everyone is given a chance to prove themselves useful.
The nazis were hatin' on dem jews (and others) because, in their mind, jews (etc.) are 'weaker', and thus, inferior. That isn't a whole lot different than what you just descibed. Just saying.

I do most hours of most days and not for promotion, just because.....

Joking aside I am also shocked at the number of people supporting the Sith/Empire way of life. Lots of valid points have already been raised as to why it would be bad (understatement) but I don't think anybody has mentioned freedom of speech.
Due to the fact that the OP is posting on a forum I assume he/she has opinions and likes to air those opinions, all of that would be removed under Empire rule. Any display of your disagreement with the governing body would probably result in a public execution.

I have question regarding Sith/Empire story classes. I'm thinking which Empire class to pick and would like to know which one is well... the least stupidly, cartoony psychotic? I'm playing Trooper right now and good lord, most of the Imp/Sith characters I meet are walking Hitlers who 100% enjoy senseless mass murder, torture etc. I really didn't expect it to be this cheesy and black & white. So which Imp class story is the least "evil"/Hitler?

I haven't gone far in its story line, but the Imperial Agent story is one of the best, in my opinion. It's like this game's James Bond.

There would be much more murder I think, because the Empire does not really care about what is happening in the lower class of society. If a bum killed a rich man or a government official, sure, there would be an investigation and the murderer would pay. But the reverse would not be true. Also, crime thrived under Palpatine's rule. It seems Palpatine thought that corruption exists what ever you do. So you might as well make a system out of it and reap the benefits...

Also look at the newbie Republic planets. Both have refugees living on them and they all hate the Republic and for good reason as the Republic treats them like shit.
The Republic is spread thin and has difficulties to distribute its ressources, true, due to the war started by the Empire. However, on Ord Mantell the separatist rebellion was ignited by imperial agents. The bulk of the population still supports the Republic. The Republic is not on Tython. The Jedi Knights control the planet and there are no refugees, but Twi'lek pilgrims who chose to be there against Republic recommandations. There is some strife between them and the Jedi, but it is all settled in the end of the story line. On Courscant, they are trying to rebuild the destructions of the Empire. Again, some are disgruntled, but the Empire has a role in the turmoils. As for Taris, well it's not a good idea for the Republic to try to colonize a ruined planet that is a pit of ravenous rakhguls. Again, those are not refugees, but colonists. They have a right to be disgruntled, but the situation gets better by the end of the story ark (thanks to your character).

On the Imperial side now. Nal Hutta is a neutral planet, so the Empire is not involved, only to try to sway one of the local crime lord to the imperial cause (by planting false evidence). The Bounty Hunter starts off as pretty much neutral, but you are hired by the Empire. On Korriban, the Sith do what they do best, and there's no civil population, so all is well. On Dromund Kaas, you have a slave rebellion that is crushed savagely, a crazy Sith Lord that makes crazy experiments and a group of conspirationist Revanites, still loyal to the Emperor, but who think the Emperor (Revan) is controlled by the Dark Council. I can't say anything about Balmorra, except that the locals fight for their freedom. So, except for that pesky slave rebellion (how dare they rebel!) on Drumund Kaas, all seems to be well in the Empire.

Because if we dont agree with the Empire they will kill us. Also unless I have a position of power I dont see myself getting killed. I would run a nice quiet Cantina and keep to myself.

Reportable nation insult aside, we are talking about a society where genocide, racism, mass murder, etc is not only advertised, but demanded.

While many countries have or have had those things, it's not acceptable for the government or leadership to hold those beliefs or commit those actions. Even our own country is outraged by torturing mass murdering terrorists in order to discover information that helps keep us safe. So you see, our country doesn't even have enough logic to understand the use of brutality.

Regardless of what people at the top want to do, their actions have to generally abide by a moral and ethical human rights accepted code. The Sith do not have to follow anything.

But The Republic is not much better. Again, look at all the Senators who are up to no good or are keeping the general public in the dark. Just because they mask their intentions, does that make them marketably better than the Sith? If I tell you that I am against violence and that I hate guns, but then go out back and shoot a prisoner in the head, am I better than the Sith who did the same?

Personally I still think that The Republic is the lesser of 2 evils, but I don't think that the Sith Empire as a whole is pure evil either. Interacting with the Sith Military in this game is way better than interacting with The Republic. As I've said before, the Sith Military is held back by the wacky Dark Jedi that rule them and forgo tactical advantages in order to carry out sadistic plans.

Vitiate (AKA The Emperor) is, of course, completely evil. I mean the man killed an entire planet to gain immortality.

You're right about the Republic. However, when you stumble upon such a case of rotten politician, you usually have the option to reveal their scam. Like that popular senator of Coruscant who was doing a pretty good job but got elected with crook money. Or those soldiers that are betting on the chances of civilians getting through a mine field. Or that senator that was trading slave collars. And so on.

It's like our democracies. Sure they have their load of scum. But you can clean the house from time to time. Dictatorships or totalitarian states can look all good on the outside, but they are rotten from the lowly public servant to the highest ranking official. But, hey! according to the Pravda, everything's well in the worker's paradise!

I think the Imperials are good, but that is just me. I think some of the things the Republic have done are worse than what the Empire has done in the long term.
