For a true Cyberpunk 2020 fanatic, a person who has already spent time walking the streets of Night City, the gameplay would have to be downright horrible for it to matter the least bit.
I mean... Just imagine being able to talk to Alt Cunningham, to hear Johnny Silverhand jam and sing, to hack into Rache Bartmoss's deck assuming he's still breathing, to go on an op with Morgan Blackhand, or to work for Saburo Arasaka. Who cares if the graphics aren't "mindblowing", or if the UI is a mess, or if the controls suck, or if the engine feels sluggish? Style over substance, man.
That's assuming any of the iconics from Cyberpunk 2020 are in this iteration... Seeing
Alt in the window in that teaser was promising, but after watching the conference with Mike Pondsmith, I'm guessing we're going to go through the asinine 2030's corporate Fallout wars timeline all the way to 2077, thus pretty much ensuring all the 2020's big names are dead and buried. That also means not all the iconic corporations will be there, and there was also talk about bringing in a lot of new and improved cyberware.
Sigh... I just wish they don't ruin it by changing it too much. Cyberpunk 2020 is what worked and still works. 203X isn't. That was a mistake and a failure. Should've just forgotten about all of that crap.
