And yes, unfortuantely, that's the case. We all get the blues - but if it lasts or gets worse...well...that's not fun.

I had post partum anxiety and eventually psychosis. It was so unique from my normal depression and anxiety it utterly blindsided me with the intensity.

And no, post partum psychosis is NOT always directed at the baby. I was haunted by the thought that if I slept my son would die. I was convinced of it. And I didn't sleep. Not for more than an hour a day. Eventually I was hallucinating things like spiders being EVERYWHERE.
