I did that a while ago as well. I'm not so obsessed with Lego anymore, but Bionicle is still the shit.

I know the feeling all so well. Magic puts out a new set every three months and two or three new products a year.

Though I guess I can't say most. Both Klocko and Vay took a liking.

Really, I just want to see people get passionate about something and for the most part, the only thing I can get people pumped for is drawing. lol

Still, it can't be too hard to find the thing that brings you the most joy, and to put efforts towards it, can it? I mean, at least no more difficult than it is for any person.

I mean, I didn't bother with drawing until high school. Up until that point, I just played video games.

Currently, I can pretty easily say that art and game design are my primary interests. While I'm focusing on illustration and the art aspect, I still have large interesting in game design, or the design of interactivity. It's partially why Psychology/Sociology/Philosophy interests me so much.

From finding this out, it became a process of finding the job that exemplifies this. Ultimately led to Industrial or Entertainment design. A concept artists, basically.

They create and design the elements that go into a game, the initial actualization of it. Both design and illustration go into this process, so it drew me in pretty quick when I found out about it.

I just want people to try doing this themselves. There has to be something each person enjoys more than other things.

PS: Sorry, edited a lot. lol
I like writing. My sketches, however much I insist otherwise, aren't too terrible, and I do have a pretty good sense of color and graphic design. I really enjoy game design as well.

My real issue is that I simply can't practice drawing as much as I can practice writing; writing is very much a mental thing, something I can practice while cleaning glass or sweeping trash at work. I can think of quotes or scenes or characters and flesh them out freely almost anywhere as long as my focus isn't occupied by something else. Drawing won't work without my focused attention, so I simply haven't done that much of it.

And yes, I like inspiring passion in others too, or at least making them think and reconsider assumptions and traditions. It's kind of one of the reasons I've gone drama llama so many times over BWSD; it both inspires passion in me and makes me consider a very simple, but very profound question (I won't spoil it, but it is very meta). As someone who typically isn't sure of anything, I'm 100% certain that BWSD (minus some to-do polishing) is the best story I can offer. It has concepts and ideas and characters I can get behind, a theme I agree with, a question I really want to explore. Every part of it from the smallest incidental character, to the explosive scenes I have yet arrive at, to the tinest subtleties and the broadest themes, all of it resonates with me. It's raw passion to the point that it's survived countless attempts to abandon it just because I can't get it out of my head.

So it's somewhat hurtful that only a precious few seem to be interested in the same ideas, never mind get passionate about them.

(Notably, the same passion and ideas that drive my writing also drive(/drove...maybe) my drawing. If I do a drawing nowadays, it's almost always of my OCs, of which there are a lot.)

Instead of it being something nice, it was "Oh, well, you didn't have to try or put effort into learning, you could just do it!" Which annoys me to no end. I put a tremendous amount of time into learning to draw, so much so that I almost failed school doing it. And for people to brush that off and say "You could do it anyways because you're just talented" Feels like a slap in the face to the years I spent practicing.
I feel the same way about being Asian. You can make ninja and impossibru and bad Chinese jokes all day, but I will get irritated the instant you use my race to discredit my work. "Well it's only because you're Asian." "Well, fuck you, I worked hard on that."

While of course it can't work in all cases, I'd say if any average person put that much time into any one thing, they will have some professional skill in it. Of course, 50,000 is a pretty large amount of time, and that's why you need to be passionate about it, which I feel is far better than having inbred talent. If someone with all the talent in the world had no motivation to use it, it wouldn't matter to anyone.
There's a reason people say you can be anything you want. You only have to want it bad enough.

Just because I should doesn't mean I will.

Is there anything I can do to help?
