You know, i've only seen one matt smith episode. It was a christmas episode, and he was depressed as fuck. And he called some guy a potato. That's all I got from the episode. Depressed and likes calling someone a potato.

Smith's Doctor is kinda depressed. You gotta remember, the writers generally try to shape the Doctor based on the events of the previous Doctor. Eccleston's Time War survivor, barely hanging onto hope and compassion turned into Tennant's very human Doctor, because of the connection with Rose. That became Smith's distant and depressed Doctor because of the loss of Rose, the damage he did to Donna, and the semi-romance with Martha. Smith is the Doctor fleeing from humanity in a way again.
