Actually, the story from the actual guy here seems to be that the bus driver was driving back to the depot, saw the kids, and started asking them what was up when that guy noticed them, and that the bus driver seems to have left them there, after acquiring their parent's contact information for the gentleman, because he was a retired psychologist.
