I really enjoyed the ep if it wasn't for 2 things that made had mixture feelings.

This ep means next one is the last one until next year.

The announcement of Fighting is Magic having a cease and desist from Hasbro has kept me mad all day. I can't even play Assassins Creed 3 correctly.

Eh, anyone else think the episodes a bit... uneeded? I mean, all it was about was the ponies pandering for some random character that will probably only appear in one episode later (that's if they have an episode for the games). Not to mention how the idea of consequence is completely nonexistent here. I get the idea that they want it to be happy endings, but still.

Also, it seems strange that they are seemingly leading up to a future episdoe for the games, kind of how they did with the Grand Galloping Gala, but since the next episode is aparently the end of the season, we won't see the follow up untill four.

Eh, yeah. The just for Side Kicks episode was pretty good on its own. I mean... yeah, it also felt like "Mane 6 going on a adventure, and screw spike and pets" but it held up on its own because CmC saved it. But this episode just had less quality to it, and characters felt like they were out of character. Example Shining Armor being like a Football Coach, I just would've never seen him as that role.

TBH I probably was never going to actually play Fighting is Magic, I just loved the soundtrack they pumped out.

And I know we all want to just have ponies every week forever, but it takes time to make this awesome show, I'd much rather them take their time than try to rush episodes.

Well... if we want to get technical... Shining Armor is... or was (does he still hold the position now that he is the... *hold back vomit* "Prince" of the empire) the Captain of the Royal Guard. So he would have likely been in charge of helping to train the guards and all that... Main problem with that is the obvious point that he sucked at that job, and the fact that we haven't seen him actually do anything at all since he's been a character.

Well, those two were really shoehorned in, and now they got to slap them with personality.

It's like taking a stereotypical Disney character like Belle from Beauty and the Beast. She does good in a single movie, generally likeable, but god help you if you try to make a TV show about her. Boring in a week.

That's what Cadence and Shining are, Disney Characters. Introduced fast, has to be likable pretty much flawless personally right from the start or they will be hated (as they just pop in two seasons in and have to have two episodes deeply about them) Sure the rest of the characters are about as dull as rocks, and I admit, I am really rather bored of most of the mane 6. But they held up a little better.
