using mouseover makros. I really recommend this. It doesnt really matter witch unitframe, i use grid as it is small and quick reacting, and has a big amount of debuff / aura info and is highly cunfigurable. Standard Ui would be ok too, but i found its debuffs harder to see, and it is big and clunky.
The benefit is that u just have to move the mouse over your target and press the key for the appropiate spell, which is very little time consuming. so u have way more time to watch environment and do things. Target a person for a heal is just a little movement with the right hand. It so much more convenient and faster than having to click on this person, and then select a heal.
The benefit is : you can shift your camera , check environment , take boss in the target for his castbars / swingtimer. U can turn around /move benefit in genereal from you not having to click on somebodys frame. All i have to do to be able to choose my target is a very slight mouse movement for a veeeeery short time (milliseconds).
I notice click healers instantly in raids, because of their lack of mobility movement and situational awareness, which is huge in heroic encounters. It is noticable to me in an instant if the guy is using clique and click-targeting or mouseovermacros.
To the guy thats trying to say 0,2 seconds doesnt matter: I dont know what game you play, but in my history of wow as a healer, i have lost countless people to 0,1 and less seconds left on my cast.

i use grid for the raid frames, purely because I don't like the default ones. but healing wise thats it. (I have other UI mods but non of them affect my actual performance - other than perhaps producing more lag =p)
Just mouseover macros. They are the best and fastest

Very easily. Mouseover healing is just a "fashion", it's overrated. Woot, you can react 0.2s faster in case of an unplanned event (emergency cd use), that's the only advantage, in every other aspect it's equal or slightly inferior to the classic click then heal method.
Pick target, mouse over it, press heal button.
It's better in absolute and completely certain terms and I don't see how you can make a logical and well-reasoned argument in any other direction. The "only advantage" is that you are faster (which is huge!), but please elaborate, what disadvantages does it have?
My first healer in WotLK user grid and clique. For some reason I never could get used to healbot after that.
Nowadays I don't use that many addons. Healing is done with standard blizzframes and mouseover macros.
I use grid + macros. I choose grid because it's so customisable and it has the clearest debuff display options for me and the best tracking, so as far as using an add on to help healing goes it counts. I don't use healbot/vuhdo etc though, tried them and just found them super clunky compared to grid and not very clear in how they display info.
I am quite surprised at the number of people who don't use an addon going by this poll. I would have said way more do tbh. No wonder so many people say they dislike healing (actually that's not entirely fair on second thoughts, there's plenty of possible reasons, but I imagine no addons doesn't help any).
