Was D3 just a test?

Been thinking a bit more about what's in store for us from Blizzard and it got me thinking.

Was Diablo 3 just one big test for Titan? And if so, is the possibility of it being a Diablo MMO make more sense?

Think about it. RMAH tested, class designs being constantly tweaked to the point were you'd think they're balancing an mmo. I don't know, just seemed interesting.

Obviously this is purely just an idea I came up with and is no way the truth. But interested to here thoughts from people about it.
