    What ilevel drops in 5.2 LFR please?

    Anyone know the answer? Wowhead did not help...

    I see some items for sale on the AH and they are ilevel 496. Don't want to buy them if the new 5.2 LFR drops equal or higher ilevels.

    Thanks

    I believe it'll drop 496 ilvl, possibly 502 ilvl.

    If the trends from the last 3 expansions keeps up we will likely see 502 from the LFR and 515 from the normal modes.

    502 would be my guess. Since hc HoF/terrace drops 509 normal thunderking would at least be ilvl 515 possibly even higher cause of the valor upgrades and since LFR is 13 ilvls lower then normal raid it would end up as 502. You'll get confirmation once loot gets implemented on the ptr.

    If you buy 496 gear and upgrade it to 504 it should still be good in 5.2

    thanks for the info. I won't spend my money on gear then rather buy another JC mount

    there are no valor upgrades in 5.2 they are temporarily removing them

    I think he means buy and upgrade now? You won't loose your upgrade once 5.2 hit right?

    No. You wont lose existing upgrades on gear.

    If we go by normal Firelands gear being 378 and DS LFR being 384 we can probably assume something like normal HoF/ToES 496 LFR ToT 502.

    Normal raids are being tested with a 502 ilvl. Normal MSV was tested with 476ilvl which ended up being the LFR drop. So my guess is 502. We won't know for sure until the items are actually on the ptr.

    They've said it will be lower ilvl than 5.0 heroic raid gear.

    Firelands heroic gear was higher than DS LFR gear.

    Well 5.0 raids have 2 different item levels. 489/502 in MSV and 496/509 in the other two. The 5.2 raid will surely only have one. With the possible exception of the last HC only boss ofc. Do you have a link to that statement btw?

    They stated that gear in lfr would always be lower ilvl then the previous gear from hc kills

    Technically blizzard always makes the normal gear from the next tier be around the same ilvl from highest ilvl drop from the previous raid :

    359 T11 -> 372 Sinestra -> 378 T12 -> 397 Ragnaros -> 397 T13
    496 T14 -> 516 Protectors -> I assume that the new normal tier would be around 516-524.
    --> I imagine lfr to be around 503-511 ilvl. 502-503 sounds more logical though.

    502 is LFR most likely, 517 is going to most likely be normal drops.

    T11 heroic was 372 but Sinestra's loot was 379.

    If they stick to typical ilvl paradgim (last HC + 6 = new normal) then we'll get
    502 LFR
    515 Normal
    528 Heroic
    534/5 Ra-Den (heroic only last boss)

    Then Siege of Org would have ilvls like
    521 LFR
    534 Normal
    547 Heroic

    If you have bunch of heroic 2/2 upgraded pieces that are 517 or above (524 for HC elite) they're likely to serve you throughout whole normal progression, save for new tier tokens ofc. HC raiders won't need to run LFR on their mains, unless Blizzard introduces overpowered tier set bonuses again.

    Surely if the new LFR drops 502 then we're just going back to the old "the previous raid tier is completely useless now", which is what they said they didn't want happening?

    They want more linear progression and not tier skipping. It'd have to drop 496 or lower to make Normal Mode guilds ignore it, which was also an intending in MoP.

    Yes, and they said they don't want to do that again.

    " While the LFR gear from a new tier will continue to be slightly better than the normal difficulty items from the previous tier, we’ll structure the power level of future tiers’ LFR loot so that it doesn’t replace Heroic gear from the previous raid, and we’re continuing to discuss other solutions internally to limit the pressure for competitive raiders to run LFR."
