They are definitely using frozen dough forms and defrosting them and then putting them in a dough proofer.
So the actually finished product is variable.
They call them footlongs not Foot long, if they are smart that's their out.

The most successful tyranny is not the one that uses force to assure uniformity but the one that removes the awareness of other possibilities.
They should be more concerned about wtf is in that "meat"
Subway and McDonalds: proof that people will eat garbage if it is marketed correctly
I like sandwiches
as with so many things in life, a promise of 12 inches rarely measures up in reality.
This reminds me I still have more or less 6 inch of subway left in the fridge. Thank you thread.
Odd there add campaign here is "douze pouces cinq dollars" translate directly to twelve inches five dollars... so they are straight up saying its twelve inches for 5$... not "about 12 inches for 5$" ... I mean in that case should I toss them 4.50$ and say "it's about 5$"?
An example of the add campaign...
you were saying?

The sad part is someone actually took the time to measure it.......
Hell, I think that's the bigger issue here. I don't eat most veggies, and when I order from Subway, my sandwich actually closes. It feels like a ripoff.
Oh, and their "five dollar footlong" deal, is crap, just like Pizza Hut's "$10 any pizza" deal. Subway's deal only counts certain subs, only happens sometimes at some stores, and if you really want meant on there, it gets expensive.
If that's false advertising, then all fast food chains should remove any wording of any weight on their burgers, ever.
The one I worked at, in a small city, had a drive-thru. It was just pointless to use it, because you couldn't watch them make the sub, and it took forever because there was only one window.
Are people actually so fat the care about something like this.
Subway should just name them large and small so people shut their idiot mouths.
They can dynamite Devil Reef, but that will bring no relief, Y'ha-nthlei is deeper than they know.
Yawn, I won't touch Subway if there's a Jimmy John's or better yet, a real deli nearby.
Oh the horror, they're off by an inch
/sarcasm.

The problem isn't the bread. It's somewhere in the process of frozen to baked that gets messed up. I have perfected the process, but I can tell you right now, I can't for the life of me get other people in my stores to do it like I do. It's always either under-proofed, under-baked, or both. If the proofer is set wrong, the bread comes out wrong. There are really a lot of factors that go in to it. The main thing is paying attention and watching the time. Most people don't care enough to learn to do it correctly, which, I believe, is the bigger problem you guys face.
