The show didnt make him a douchebag, he was always one.

I also dislike the show because I don't like the humour and animation, not just that reason.

i also dislike that extreme obsession of mlp, but not more than i dislike extreme obsession of anything else.

I'd say you have pretty extreme people who like anime too, but there's just a lot more in the so called "brony" community.

Either way, maybe it was a wake up call, to stop associating with people who use those social networking sites, especially those that use avatars on them.

Anyway, not everyone who uses one of those sites is a bad person though, that would be generalising it alot.
I'm not saying the whole "pony" picture is bad, but the fact that he photoshopped himself on it is pretty awful.

I'm on Facebook... but it's mostly to see what my friends do from time to time, and for some news and stuff. I just find it neat to be able to "Like" different things and get news about them in one page.

It certainly has it's uses, but a lot of people live on that site.

maybe, but i'd say that's because the mlp hype is kinda unique in that form in the western world. if there were more series that would appeal to that (adult) audience and form a similar community around it, like in the case of many anime in japan, i'm guessing it wouldn't be as bad.
