Chris Christie labels NRA ad "reprehensible"

As much as I love the guy and as right as he is, he may well be throwing away a shot at the 2016 nomination

Making idiotic insinuations that the President's children aren't at higher risk than the average child is pretty stupid of the NRA.

In addition, bringing a politician's child into the fray is beyond low. Christie is just calling it as it is, if the Republican Party doesn't want to nominate a candidate with those traits, then that's their loss.

Did I not say that the statement was correct? I'm pretty sure I did.

I'm hoping the Republicans come to their senses and nominate someone who's willing to say something like this. It would be a whole lot more attractive to the center. But I'm not going to hold my breath. I think more likely, if Christie decides to run, he'll end up moving to the far right just to win the primaries, not that he's very left at all right now, he's just the rational right.

I still disagree with him on the collective bargaining stuff.
'Twas a cutlass swipe or an ounce of lead
Or a yawing hole in a battered head
And the scuppers clogged with rotting red
And there they lay I damn me eyes
    All lookouts clapped on Paradise
All souls bound just contrarywise, yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

Saw this ad on our news the other night, I think it's hilarious. You can't compare the most powerful man in the world having security for his family with your own right to own a firearm, it's not the same thing at all. These gun raving lunatics are the reason he has security in the first place...

They also had footage from a gun fair, 13 year old kids walking around with rifles, is TOTALLY acceptable amirite? -.-

    You calling him fat?! (Joke)

Perhaps he is what a Republican should be, or any politician for that matter. Making judgments on issues not by party lines. In fact, I would call "RINO" a compliment at this point

The 2012 elections show that you're wrong. Look at how fast that conservatives went from hating Mitt Romney's guts to going to extreme lengths to defend the ridiculous stuff he would say, ans also saying stuff that they had previously railed against.

The RINO argument that gets tossed around is utterly bizarre. It is a label that is being put on more traditional Republicans by the more extreme element that has only recently taken over. It would be like new immigrants or 2nd gen Americans calling 10th generation Americans as "Americans in name only".

You know I could generally care less about party lines but bigoted self serving dimwits like him are the reason nobody takes the party seriously and fears the religious dictatorship they wish to create.

I mean I lean toward the more conservative side but these gasbags and religious fanatics do nothing but make liberals look good.

And no I am not bashing religion even though I am not religious I support religion being taught in school, I have no issues with god being in the pledge of allegence or a statue of the 10 commandments outside a courthouse. I am bashing religious extremists and the more vocal ones of the republican party are the christian equivalent to the Taliban imo just instead of using physical force and destruction to get what they want they instead use to law.

I'm sorry, what? What the hell could anyone consider wrong about Chris Christie? Especially a conservative?

That's because we aren't talking about conservatives, we're talking about the reactionary fringe that permeates the Republican Party.

I'm Canadian so detached from the U.S. political climate to some degree, but I don't see how you can criticize the guy for calling a spade, a spade.

I kinda just lol'd hard when I read this part of your post.

Not gonna happen, not anytime in the near future anyway.

Give it a few decades atleast.
