    Need help with this build

So i plan on ordering my first custom PC and i just wanted an expert opinion on the PC build from my wishlist.

DO NOT give me your opinion on the aesthetics, just the technical side, like is the PSU wattage that i chose overkill for the build?

    MOBO: GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-D3H LGA 1155 Intel Z77
    GPU: EVGA 02G-P4-2670-KR GeForce GTX 670 2GB 256-bit GDDR5
    PSU: Seasonic SS-760XP ATX 12V/EPS 12V, 760W, 80 plus PLATINUM
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155
    RAM: G.SKILL Sniper 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
HDD: Western Digital WD Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard
    Monitor: ASUS VS248H-P Black
Optical drive: ASUS 24X DVD Burner

I'm on the fence on which cooler i should get for the CPU, but it is between the H80i and the Noctua NH-D14.

Your PSU is way overkill, you will hardly reach 300W during load.

What case are you going to use?
    Intel i5-3570K @ 4.7GHz | MSI Z77 Mpower | Noctua NH-D14 | Corsair Vengeance LP White 1.35V 8GB 1600MHz
    Gigabyte GTX 670 OC Windforce 3X @ 1372/7604MHz | Corsair Force GT 120GB | Silverstone Fortress FT02 | Corsair VX450

I am using a Coolermaster HAF XB.....don't judge.

What would be your recommended PSU wattage, and are you sure 700W is overkill considering that the GPU requirements is 500W minimum?

I'd also pick a different brand/model video card. The EVGA only has one smaller fan. An XFX, Gigabyte, or Asus with two big fans will be better and quieter. And yes, a Seasonic 520w would be enough. More than enough. You could do with an Antec VP 450 as well.

    They aren't.

    670 = 170w, CPU - 70w, MB/Other = 50w. And thats at max possible load. Doesn't break 300 tops, more like 200-250.

ATI and nVidia list much higher requirements, because they don't know what power supplies you have. Technically, if you bought the most craptastic power supply, you might need more 'total' power to provide proper rail wattage. It's more a liability thing, so nobody can sue them for "It said this, but it wasn't enough"

    Yes I'm sure.
http://www.hardocp.com/article/2012/...ifire_review/8 3x GTX 680 running at 700W load, measured at the wall so you can deduct about 10% from that for PSU efficiency.

With the HAF XB you can fit a h100i in the front so in my opinion you should ignore the h80i.

How long will the h100i last before it fails? I don't want to replace it after just one year of use.

That is hard to say but there is a 5 year warranty on the h100i.

I considered the HAF XB as a case, however changed my mind because I read some reviews where the case could easily fry some hard drives, probably something in the design causes the metal on metal or something.

Which is the only reason I avoided it and went with a Fractal Design R4. Just my opinion. And an h100i will top fit on the R4 as well. Just food for thought, because I actually really like the design on the XB just might be too young in the model type for it to be flawless.

hi hi. may i suggest getting a ssd as well to compliment your hdd. install windows and any games on the ssd and use the hdd for storage and a back up Os if you wish. if you do decide to get a ssd get one with 120 gig as anything less can reduce read speed slightly and anything more would be a waste.

    gl with your build.
