If you were to build a super-team...

The Earth is about to be invaded by an incredibly strong force of aliens/demons, and to save it, you have to build a 'super-team' of 5 fictional fantasy warriors that are strong enough to save the world.

Who would you pick? Only rule is that super overpowered 'godlike' characters (such as Goku and Dr Manhattan, to name two) can't be used.

Also, don't be the dude that goes 'LOL (important human religious figure)". Don't be that guy.

The obvious choices

-Superman
-The Green Lantern
-Thor
-Professor X (mind control all the way)
-Hulk/Iron man (to have a brainy superhero of the group)

I would go for brute strength and the first 3 superhero's are pretty much already some sort of alien lol

1) Gandalf the White (LotR) - For his wisdom and magic
2) Majin Buu (Dragon Ball Z) - For his power (I don't believe he's overpowered to not count like Goku)
3) Jake the Dog (Adventure Time) - As comic relief and his power
4) Deadpool (Deadpool Comics) - As the badass. And isn't OP because while he's immortal he can still be put down
5) Sherlock Holmes (Sherlock Holmes)- For his brains and sarcastic sassyness

I'm pretty sure Alucard would count as being too overpowered, since he kind of can't be killed and while not even at full power killed a god.

My list (avoiding some of the characters I'd like to take just in case they're overpowered.)
1- Sora (Kingdom Hearts)
2- The Grey Warden (Dragon Age Origins to be exact)
3- Batman (Arkham City version 'cause why not?)
4- The Leader of the Saints (Saints Row 3)
5- Death (Darksiders 2)

For those not in the know my no holds barred team is a group of god killers gods and being that are gods among gods. Oh and a mech powered by two demigods. In short Goku and Doctor Manhatten would have their asses kicked by this team.

Should probably be more specific as to what counts as 'godlike'. There are plenty of fictional characters weaker than Goku and Dr. Manhattan who are overwhelmingly powerful.

Gildartz (Fairy Tail)

Without restrictions, my team would look a lot different, with one exception.
