Having the skeleton keys be usuable by anyone wouldn't be too terrible. Smiths could then put keys on sale if they chose to do so.

As it stands, between rogues and blacksmiths, getting a box unlocked is a minor inconvenience at worst, IMO.

Engineers can open them too - http://www.wowhead.com/item=77532 so that's three options for opening a lockbox. If you are so antisocial that you don't know any engineers, blacksmiths or rogues perhaps you're playing the game wrong.

Wow, I'm an idiot. I probably trained that on both my engs and didn't realize I had it. Makes sense, though, because I remember using the bombs to blast open lockboxes in vanilla.
