Building a new gaming desktop, help appreciated

    Hello everyone,

I am in the process of building a gaming desktop, and I think I've got a satisfying setup right now. However, I would love to have some advice on case choice, and I'm curious whether there's any components that could be replaced by same performance/cheaper parts or same price/better performance parts:

    OS: Windows 8
    MB: Asrock Z77 Extreme4
CPU: Intel Core I5 3350P 3.10 GHz, Boxed, Excl. Videochip, Quad Core
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 3072 MB
    PSU: OCZ Fatal1ty 550 Watt, 20+24 Pins
    RAM: Kingston Hyperx Genesis 2x4 GB, PC3-12800, 1600 MHz, 9, Non-ECC
HDD: WD Caviar Green WD10EZRX 1 TB, IntelliPower, 64 MB
    SSD: Crucial M4 128 GB, S-ATA III / 600, 175 MB's, 500 MB's, 2,5 Inch
Processor Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 412S
    DVDRW: Samsung SH-224BB/BEBE S-ATA
    Case: Cooler Master Elite 430

I've read up on what kind of cases are recommended generally, but since my budget is stretching in this build already, I'm curious whether this case would be sufficient, or why a more expensive one is necessary/strongly recommended.

My aim is to be able to play games like GW2 on max settings, and be able to keep up for a good couple of years.

    Thanks in advance!

The problem with cheaper cases are usually build quality, they are usually built from thin metal sheets that have a tendency to not dampen vibrations as much as more sturdier constructions. You usually don't get as good cable management in a cheaper case. Fans included can be of a lower quality and overall design is made with keeping the case cheap and not for maximum performance.

So, say I do put down a few extra bucks for a better case, how would a CM HAF 912 Plus be?

(The rest of the build seems solid to you then?)

I don't really like the HAF series and would personally pick something like the Corsair 200R or 300R in that price range.
