I usually pick a class that fits my playstyle over anything. I usually play melee or resto shaman/disc priest but I didn't play resto last season when everybody and there brother played one.
I have a holy pala and a resto shaman with full pvp gear, but Im playing resto druid for pvp. Not the FOTM, but I LOVE resto druid playstyle
anyone mind telling me what FOTM is?

Nope don't do FOTM... I do blood DK x2 in 2's to piss off every team that we face forcing it into a draw OR getting my weekly points.
...Made it through 9 years of wow...
Rogues and mages have been fotg since forever. Flavor of the game. They're the classes people go to when they throw in the towel and say:
"Yeah, I can't play pvp in this game to save my life so I need something ridiculously overpowered that I can use to steamroll people in duels, 1v1 and wpvp without being in actual danger of getting owned myself"
Good thing rogues only had 1 season of actually being balanced. It's back to their fotg state next patch, ofcourse with the fotm warriors moving over to fotg rogues.
Flavour of the month or the OP spec of the month.. or sometimes the whole expansion because Blizzard have no clue how to balance this game.
OP specs usually means that they press 1 2 3 over and over again or put skills in a single macro to global anything because of Blizzards superior design.
Its usually about 1v1.
Im not speaking for everyone but for me it looks like this:
1. Warriors are usually extremely OP at the beginning and useless after the nerfs. Suddenly Ghostcrawler goes nuts and buffs them randomly in the middle of an expansion after they stayed useless for like half a year.
2. Rogues are the next ones. I dont know much about them, i have always hated them (especially earlier WoW when they only attacked my shaman and CATA with their immortality due to selfheals countering every spec that has to play defensively and extremely easy ways to dodge damage) but if i would take a guess, they suck at the start of every expansions and then becomes more and more OP until at the end, they are pretty much insane.
Whenever i play a rogue i feel sick. Its something weird about them. They seem to be weak and underpowered yet i win every match with 100% life left, ofcourse during those times they are actually OP.
3. Frost mages are usually the FOTM thru every expansion. With the stupid silence gone maybe it has changed, i dont play much anymore.
4. And there are hidden things that people refuse calling OP. Such as spriests. They can become extremely OP time to time with their insane shields, self heal and spike damage. But they look weak, thats why noone talks about them, i guess.

Since my original toon was a Shaman, I have always played him in End Game PvP. I started out Resto in TBC so I did that for 4 seasons, and came Wotlk, I never went back. Been Enhance ever since trying to break our curse!!! Enhance will PREVAIL!!!
I think every class has been FOTM throughout WoW's history at least once. No real point in arguing about it.

It can be fun sometimes. Even the players at the top are not used to play against your spec, so everytime the battle starts and they se a really big angry chicken shooting lazers they dont really now wtf to do.
But most of the times is very frustanting. When you get killed even playing 10 times better than your opponent and you realize that his class is just so much better designed at PvP than yours, or when you are so ignored even by the devs that even if you really have a stupid OP spell you spec is not even mentioned in patch notes.
I had good times back in the days when Starfall lived up to its name. Fun to see that for once players ran away from my fat chicken for once after years of always being the first target.
Been playing druid since late vanilla. been feral / resto for most but been moonkin all mop so far (pve and pvp) i have my good and bad days. mostly bad when i see someone burst me down in 1 stun or i cant cast to save my life but.. its ok :P
