Yeah, the top back one. It's plugged into what the gateway fan was plugged into, a 3 pin with a slot across the 3 that fits into 2 channels attached to the fan plug.IT's going to be impossible to take a picture, lemme try.

Yeah, you can't even see it with the other power cable almost on top of it plus my crap camera.

The connection is exactly like this.

Well, there's no extra pin though.

The old fan is a lot smaller than the new one, I'll post a pic. Could that have something to do with it?

It could be one of three things.

    1) It might be smart enough to know its not the old case/ fan and is getting confused
    2) It might be smart enough to turn it slow/off when the system is cool enough (Run some games to test)
    3) That may be a port for a "CPU Fan 2" and there may be another system fan port nearby

Derp, I could just show you the end of the old fan, it's identical.

Here's the old tiny and new fan side by side.

I"ll try running Skyrim, see if it starts up.

Unless I spin it with my finger, the fan refuses to spin. Even with my finger, it doesn't seem to be spinning fast enough to do anything.

Maybe go into the bios and see if there is any settings regarding fans and fan speed. Does the pins it plugs into have 4 pins (like in the example picture earlier)

No, only 3, just like the fan plug. BIOS is when you spam something on the startup splashscreen, right?

Alright, checked out the BIOS and didn't see anything interesting..smart fan is enabled, and that's about it. I turned on some USB beeps though!

Also, the fan seems to be acting fine. Strange. I'll post again if it turns off tomorrow, but for now, I'm calling this a job well done. Thanks guys!

It's a bit odd, I'll admit, but nothing you need to worry about. There's enough cooling on there that it's sort of a non-issue, if that back fan is spinning or not.
