PvP Stat Priority - Crit vs Mastery (Holy)

I mainly run RBG's and more or less follow this priority, PvP Resilience > Intellect > PvP Power > Spirit > Mastery > Crit > Haste.

However, I've been seeing a lot of people prioritize Crit over Mastery lately. Is anyone seeing significantly better results stacking Crit > Mastery?

During FC matches are you escort or offensive heals? Mastery, from what I have heard, is better with mutliple targets because of mechanics like Eternal Flame, but if you only have 1-2 other targets to heal, a high crit chance is incredibly nice for quick Divine Lights and such. But don't take my word as 100%, I haven't done Holy PvP this expac.

I mostly heal the FC in FC battles, and stay with the tank in AB.
I go for mostly mastery/critt build, and I do just fine. I dont top any meters or anything, but people rarely die when it's a fair fight.
EF is awesome on singel target heal with alot of mastery to be honest, as I can build up a 130k mastery shield on him and keep it there with EF (Alot easier to handle things if a rogue/druid pops up and the FC got like 4 stacks..)

It's a matter of taste I guess, I've seen people go with anything.
This is my priority: resi - int - power - spirit (To about 13k Mp5, rarely got mana problems with this regen) - mastery - critt - haste.

The reason haste isnt very much needed in PvP is that we rarely stand and cast heals, most is instant (Holy Shock and WoG/EF's). And if we're pressured that hard and we need to trow out FoL we got the Aura Mastery, and people to peel for us.

Just noticed that I actually reforged out of 500mastery to gain even more crit on my pala, Not quite sure how needed this is as Holy Shock got a 25% base crit. But hey - is it anything called "to much crit"? ;D

Crit is a huge buff for holy shock and if you get the sanctified wrath talent (I think it was?) 3 sec holy shocks with a good chance of hasted divine lights. This is a guildy's PoV and he's loving his Crit build. He only does random bgs though.

I guess I love DP to much to try SW ^^As we get to trow out a bunch of WoG/EFs with the 4set bonus, I feel I get so many DP procs, and they have been life saving many times. Maybe I should try SW though, trowing out a bunch of Holy Shocks cant go to wrong It's just the CD I dont like..

Yeah, I would say Divine Purpose is better than SW - more consistent instant heals is better than making a healing CD even better - you don't really ever need much more than 20% extra healing, a lot of it will get turned into overhealing with all of those divine lights, probably. But again, not sure.

You do realise this is about pvp right? Over healing in pvp? XD

Don't forget, holy shock grants holy power. Also the talent stretches avenging wrath to 40 seconds. 40 seconds of 3 sec holy shocks is pretty good stuff.

Yeah, but when you got AW on CD you're sitting there with nothing, and many fights in RBG last longer than 40seconds.. : / With DP you'll have a chance to get a free cast all the time, wich will help with your mana and topping someone if you're lucky enough. It's all a matter of playstyle though

Mastery stacking + Eternal Flame is definitely nice considering the HoT re-applies the mastery shield. I can see the case for SW though, and in that case I agree stacking crit is more beneficial. Not sure if SW is the best talent for RBGs though, that initial fight in most bg's lasts longer than 40 seconds and 3min CD is brutal. However unpredictable DF may be, it comes in handy during longer fights where mana is an issue.

I Mastery Stack with about 6.5k spirit. Find it amazing in CTF, having me and the tanks with 120k shields rolling and full mana is great, with EF's and HoT's from the drood seems to work fine in big fights

I think it's also important to mention the fact that, with Wings up, you might as well have a sign painted over your head that says "Hey, look at me I'm all shiny! CC me into oblivion!". I find that, because of this and the reasons listed above, I prefer to use Divine Favor and a balanced Mastery-Crit build. Try out several iterations of reforges in and out of Crit/Mastery and do whatever you feel gives you the most effective throughput.

Personally, I have a lot more Mastery than I do Crit. But, since the stats do such drastically different things while still being nearly equal in throughput, it essentially comes down to a choice of playstyle.

Yes, overhealing in PvP. You don't need a Divine light every 3 seconds. And it's 30 seconds, not 40. It's also nice to permanently, all the time, get free 3 HP WoG's that can be done will moving and can't be kicked. And as they said, most RBG's and arenas last for more than 30 seconds, and as soon as you use AW, that talent is gone.

Crit vs Mastery is playstyle, though. Personally Holy's always been best for me with instant casts and near instant casts, so I'd go crit. Much harder to kick.
Especially next patch where Selfless Healer will be usable as Holy, and give the other two talents a run for their money.

    PVP Holy Reforging Question

I keep seeing inconstant reforging between Pally's in BG's. I see some that reforge Haste, others reforge as Crit and myself I am at Mastery right now. I looked on Noxxic and it shows PVP power as a reforge more then Crit or Haste. My question what would be most beneficial for my as Holy spec for survivability? Usually I am on top of heals in a BG but if I can better myself then that is all the better.

    Noxxic reforge suggestion:
Intellect > PvP Power > PvP Resilience > Crit > Spirit > Haste > Mastery

    Ask Mr. Robot suggestion:
    Int > Resil > Spirit > Haste > Crit > Mastery

If I start to stack more mastery - what is the minimum that I should be at? Currently my Mastery is at 18.48% or 2590, and have 6385 spirit.

Hey, just thought i would way in.

    600 Critical = 1% Critical chance
    400 Mastery = 1% Mastery
If crit was normalized this would mean on pure numbers mastery would be more efficient then crit. However pvp is not constant damage but this is still worth note.

In a burst situation, critical chance can be better, as you could crit more and survive due to this, however i would prefer not to rely on chance with this.
Mastery also allows better efficiency as you can use Holy shocks to build shields at full hp, using less mana to obtain the same size shield.

Personally my reforge is Ress > Int > spirit(6500) > mastery > crit > haste (spirit number is large enough for me to not goo oom in a 3v3 draw)

Also numbers are hard to see, i often come low in heals in bgs becuase i take rolls such as guarding BeT in EotS or healing the FC etc.
