Rng is Rng - LFR

I am decently geared (473 ilvl) warlock and I used to put 100% of my effort into all of my LFRs so far.

Today after getting no loots from "Terrace" and "Dread Approach" (non-stop gold from these 7 bosses) I was upset and i decided to just stand in the background and do only Rain of Fire for my "Nightmare Shekzeer" LFR.

Lo behold!!! I got two tier pieces from consecutive bosses while pulling the lowest dps in the grp..lol

RNG is RNG. With that said you being lazy and barely dpsing that fight you shouldn't have gotten any loot at all.

LOL are you really complaining about rng in lfr while you just ran 2 times HoF and 2 times TES? You gotta be kidding me.

Rng is rng but with that said many find some kind of activity or habit that they feel increases their chance at getting loot, like sport players not washing their socks... i just got 7 upgrades the other night by doing both MSVs for 4th time and both hof's and toes for the first time the other night, but any other time i always get nothing almost. sad part was that it was in middle of night i was tired paying lil attention and was trying to be lazy, i clicked off every healing buff i received and never even tryed to move out of aoe or stayed stacked with others quite a few times i just autoshot afked...

I'm expecting to reach the point where I have both the gem and upgrade for my terrace weapon... and still haven't actually had the damn thing drop, because RNG is RNG. -_-

It's great fun getting stuff you've already had drop multiple times that's utterly useless to you, instead of your weapon.

Maybe I should try your AFK method next week for a laugh.

I would like to see something that prevented people who did sub-par (super low) dps from getting gear. I have had a problem of dying early (bad tanks on ultrax + legendary daggers = splat) due to not being healed/poor tanking, but I have always tried to pull my weight. It really annoys me when people AFK all together or just auto attack the boss and end up with loot.

Every time I've done LFR I've come away with at least 3 pieces of loot. Last week I got trink, shoulders off Lei Shi. Amulet from Garalon and 2 Shin'kas.

I hope they fix drop rates at least a month ahead of 5.2 so we can get more loot while it is still useful, like sha touched weapons. I am trying out for a raid group tonight and I was really hoping that sha weapon would drop so I could put forth my best foot.

The Original Poster linked his armory. He has cleared HoF LFR and ToES LFR only 2-3 times each. He expects doing low dps has something to do with the fact he won gear, but he literally has only sampled 2 LFR fights on this toon to back up his statement.

RNG is just what it is. Random Number Generator.

You didn't win gear because you afk'd. You won gear because you were a lucky, lazy asshat.

Blues already commented on this in a post a few weeks back. DON'T afk in fights just because you think it'll help you win loot. It won't. It's random, and purposely slacking and doing low dps doesn't help anyone in any way.

I'd also like to point out that OP has only killed a total of 31 LFR bosses on the toon he linked, but has FOUR pieces of LFR gear. On average, that means he won 1 piece of gear per 7.75 boss kills, or around 1 piece of gear per two LFR runs. Blizzard has already stated that the bosses themselves, as well as the extra chance from the elder, only have a 15% chance to yield an item, on average. You won an item 12.9% of the time you killed 1 boss.

There's no conspiracy behind your claims. You are just acting like another tinfoil hat conspiracy theorist with little to no actual proof of your theory.

One thing is certain though. If I ever knew you were purposely AFKing to try to "win loot," I'd boot you from the group in a second.

Frankly OP you would not of gotten past me in LFR, I always check other warlocks on the dps meters to see what attacks they are using and which are netting them their majority damage and I can tell if they are doing their rotation correctly, I would of seen your one source of dps and called for your kicking so you could enjoy another 45 min dps que for terrace.

i got 4 items from one run in LFR once, but i also went like 3 weeks of doing all the LFRs without a single item. RNG is fun !

I wish I'd bookmarked it but a month or two ago there was a great blue response to a thread like this that said they found they got more gear if they clapped three times right before the boss died.

I’ve recently noticed that I tend to get more loot when I'm able to clap my hands three times during the last two seconds just before the boss dies!

No, not really, it’s just random, and like all things random, sometimes we can take probability a bit too personally and either call it bad or good luck.
