I'm just curious as to what zones from each expansion have been the most like and disliked. I have odd opinions on some of them myself. I seem to be one of the few that loved Vash'jir. So i wanted to see how many responses i might get and get some input from other players. I'll start off. Say...maybe the two most loved and hated zones from each time frame.
Vanilla:
Most hated: STV & Burning Steppes.
Most loved: Tanaris & Felwood.
Post-cataclysm revamp of Vanilla zones:
Most hated: Silithus & Southern Barrens.
Most loved: Tanaris & Burning Steppes.
Burning Crusade:
Most hated: Nagrand, Blade's Edge.
Most loved: Zangarmarsh & Netherstorm.
WotLK:
Most hated: Howling Fjord & Dragonblight.
Most loved: Sholazar & Storm Peaks.
Cataclysm:
Most hated: Deepholm & Twilight Highlands.
Most loved: Uldum & Vash'jir.
Mists of Pandaria:
Most hated: Townlong Steppes & Krasarang Wilds.
Most loved: Dread wastes & Kun-Lai Summit.
======================================
That about sums it up for me. This is neither a new or interesting topic, i'm sure. Just curious. Was fun to re-play through everything the last few months and reminisce.
Vanilla:
Can't say, was only around for a bit at the end of WotLK, didn't get to see half of it.
Post-cataclysm revamp of Vanilla zones:
Most hated: Winterspring & Eastern Plaguelands
Most loved: Silverpine Forest & Westfall
Burning Crusade:
Most hated: Zangarmarsh & Terokkar Forest
Most loved: Netherstorm & Shadowmoon Valley
WotLK:
Most hated: Borean Tundra & Borean Tundra xD
Most loved: Storm Peaks & Icecrown
Cataclysm:
Most hated: Deepholm & Deepholm (yep, once more its the only one)
Most loved: Mount Hyjal & Uldum
Mists of Pandaria:
Most hated: Krasaran Wilds (before 5.1, I luv the dailies there) & Valley of the Four Winds I liked less than the rest
Most loved: Dread Wastes & Kun-Lai Summit.
Vanilla:
Most hated: STV
Most loved: Ashenvale & Silverpine Forest
TBC:
Most hated: Terokkar Forest & Blade's Edge Mountains
Most loved: Nagrand & Netherstorm
WotLK:
Most hated: Borean Tundra
Most loved: Howling Fjord (partly because of the launch-night leveling for the WotLK release)
Cata:
Most hated: Vashj'ir (mostly because of the horrible underwater experience of the launch-night leveling for the Cata release)
Most loved: Mount Hyjal
Mists of Pandaria:
Most hated: Townlong Steppes
Most loved: Jade Forest
Vanilla:
Hate - Silverpine (damn you, sons of Arugal, and your then-unusually high level...), Desolace (zzzz...)
Love - Plaguelands. Both of 'em
Haven't done any post-Cataclysm revamp stuff
Burning Crusade:
Hate - Hmm, they were all pretty nice... Blade's Edge, I guess?
Love - Isle of Quel'Danas.
Wrath:
Hate - Sholazar
Love - Literally every other zone 'cept Crystalsong, since there was ultimately something going on with the Yogg-Saron story, which is the best storyline they've done
Cataclysm:
Hate - Uldum - zzzzz....
Love - Vashj'ir - best questflow in the game
Pandaira:
Hate - Valley of the Four Winds (not too much though, but still...)
Love - Kun-Lai Summit, Dread Wastes, and the 5.1 storyline which crosses several
Classic:
Dislike - I didn't really dislike any Classic zone. If maybe only Azshara - took ages to get anywhere in that zone.
Love - Plaguelands (both), Felwood, Elwynn Forest.
TBC:
Dislike - Didn't dislike any zone.
Love - Netherstorm. It had very transcendental feeling.
WotLK:
Dislike - Wintergrasp though it is not actual zone. But it was right in middle of the map and was flagging and auto-dismounting you if you were flying over it.
Love - Icecrown of course!
Cata:
Dislike - Uldum. Too much of stupid Harrison Jones quests.
Love - Mount Hyjal.
MoP:
Dislike - any zone except one I love. Too much pandas, monkeys and virmens.
Love - Dread Wastes.
