There's one way I can see this working.

All legendaries that can be obtained solo (wrath and earlier) are no longer obtainable.

That way those who put forth the effort can show it off with transmoging, but it won't become common to see twinblades or shadowmourne.

Not sure if people are confusing this with a "should they ever let us transmog legendaries"....

I don't agree with the idea, but no doubt they will do it eventually.

Please, effort is relative to when the legendary was current. Maybe transmogable depending on when the Feat of Strength was obtained? Even that's iffy for the three before TBC.

I don't imagine they'll budge on this, but "never" is still a very strong word.

I also think Blizzard overstates their own case, though. They don't want to 'devalue' legendaries by having everyone running around with one on. Which, to my mind, is a self correcting problem. I think the type of player most likely to WANT a legendary transmog is (generally) the type of player most likely to want to look like a special snowflake. So, once they see that everyone else has a set of warglaives too, they'll switch to something else and after a few weeks the flood will be back down to normal levels again.

What I think would be cool to have in the game if they don't allow us to actually transmogrify the weapons is a legendary quest chain that upon completion allows you to add one special effect to your current weapon based on the legendary weapon from past content that you own. For example:

-Thunderfury: adds a tornado visual effect when you hit enemies and maybe the electrical charge on your weapon when you swing it.

-Sulfuras: maybe have it engulf the enemy in flames when you hit them or put a flame enchant visual effect on your weapon.

-Atiesh: adds the raven summoning effect to your character and a Portal: Karazhan ability to your spell book.

-Warglaives (must own both): adds a special chance for your attacks to turn you into Illidan or the lock-illidan shadow form for a few moments.

-Thori'dal: adds a visual effect to your bullet/arrow shots, maybe like a beam of light trailing behind them.

-Val'anyr: creates some kind of healing visual on a target every time you heal them.

-Shadowmourne: some kind of undead/shadow effect from attacks, maybe a chance to turn into a shadowy form of the Lich King or DK Arthas.

-Dragonwrath: adds the ability: Transform: Tarecgosa's Visage to your spell book and maybe a weapon glow.

-Fangs of the Father: adds the slow fall shadow wing effect to your character in their spell book.

Actually I would in fact prefer those effects over the actual weapon visual, especially the ability to turn into Tarecgosa without having to constantly equip the weapon.

I'd like to live in hope that Blizzard will stop being dumb and let people look how they want to look one day.

    The question is incorrect.

Given Wow history and one thousand of "broken taboos"(please dont ask me to list them lol) the correct question is ....when?

    Got no answer.

For my guilds sake I hope they do, and soon.

I bet they are tired of me tanking with the Warglaves. I can't stop though and they know it.

So, if they allow this can I transmog one legendary into another (Assuming they the legendary meets the item lvl requirement)? Example: Can I transmog Ulduar mace into Glaive (since they are removing the weapon type requirement) Also, it would be cool (and funny) if it was possible for me to transmog the MC mace into thunder furry.People would be like: what an idiot, why did you do that? Actually, maybe this is the answer to the problem: Only allow legendairies to mog into other legendaires (that way they can keep serving a purpose and remain special, and relevant)

Old legendaries are neither special nor relevant though.

But they could be if you could only transmog new legendaries with them. It would mean that only people that put in the effort to get current legendaires could transmog them with old legendairies. This would stop everyone and their grandma from going back to old content and getting the old legendairies for transmog. And, would make the old legendairies special because it would still be rare to be able to transmog them (because they would only transmog with other legendairies, which would make them either useless as a real weapon and unusable if you only had other low level legendairies, or actually useful if you have a current usable legendary)
