Moral panic. Banning of vices never works, point of fact.

True or untrue...that's mostly the more vocal concern.
Get a grip man! It's CHEESE!
They say the house always win because it does. People can win but people have a hard time stopping; it's addictive. Now when you have an addictive culture ruin families financially, who picks up the bill? The people who didn't gamble; taxpayers. Why risk it when you dont need to? I'm glad it's banned in alot of areas. I know the Cherokee in NC have a casino and it is highly successful and I believe it is the best approach in this state. You have to travel some distance to a place you cant live in and the stakes are moderate to low as regulated. This to me gives the perfect background for a gambling location.
If you cant keep control, then gambling is bad. You may think it is none of our business how someone conducts themself but like I said who will take care of people who blow all their money in an hour? I dont want to be stuck with that bill. Of course, people can control themselves and I for example fill up a styrofoam cup full of quarters and just play slots. I even leave my debit card behind so I cannot be tempted further.
It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shakes, the shakes become a warning.

because it is a non taxed transaction in those states
The reason it is illegal in some states still is because of religion, mainly Christianity. It talks somewhere in the Bible about how gambling is a sin.
Gambling is just scamming anyway be glad its illegal where you live, lots of people here get addicted to it and sell everyting they own even their houses
Lemme make a little alteration and see how that changes things.
Furthermore, if you think it being illegal affects anything positively rather than just driving things underground into worse conditions (Ursuric loan sharks, organized crime, etc.), I have a bridge to sell you.
how is an mmo scamming, theres a monthly fee, and that's it. I know that prohibition isnt always the solution and I realize that the war on drugs is in vain, however I imagine managing a whole underground casino is quite hard and there will definitely be less people scammed (however some will be scammed probably even worse, or killed )
