War of the Greys: Aegwynn's Vengeance [Open RP]

With the death of the lich Darced and the defeat of Sargeras at Tyr's Hand, a costly victory hinders the once proud races of Lordaeron. Now, faced with the impending return of the Dark Titan and the resurrection of his armies, these unlikely groups must band together to ensure the continued safety of their world. The Scourge, Forsaken, Bronze Dragonflight, Ebon Blade, Argent Crusade and the Grey Family will descend onto the Storm Peaks in hopes of stopping Sargeras from regaining his long awaited form.
Along the way, heroes of Azeroth will learn truths of the Titan's plans, both from the side of the Light and that of the Twisting Nether. They will arrive at the behest of Norzdormu at Wyrmrest temple where they will attempt to usher a powerful being into the world. As the assault on the city of Ulduar begins, powerful allies and enemies will rise from their slumber. The roof of the world will once again shake the foundations of the free realms and you'll be there to meet it.

The War of the Greys has begun.

((Anyone is welcome, we're riding into Northrend on Alliance gunships and Forsaken zeppelins with the company of the Banshee Queen Sylvanas, Highlords Darion Mograine and Tirion Fordring. There will be Forsaken, Stormwind Marines and Greys from both the Alliance and the Horde. This will be a collaborative effort and is not condoned by factions, thus no Call to Arms boards like usual.

No knowledge of lore is required, just get ready to make a stop at Wyrmrest and to kill some demons! Happy Hunting!))

    ---------- Post added 2013-01-29 at 01:59 PM ----------

Arinite watched from the deck of the Skybreaker, an Alliance gunship made for the sole purpose of fighting within the frigid isle of Northrend's skies. She had commanded this vessel in the recent past, with the intent of destroying the Forsaken in Icecrown, a group of creatures who had once been her countrymen. For year they fought, cousins versus cousins, living versus the dead. Now, she stared off at the armada they had assembled. From atop her fleet of three gunships she watched the Forsaken zeppelins float by through the clouds; the vessels sliced through the atmosphere despite their clunky appearance. How did it come to this? Further beyond that, Scourge Necropoli, a source of dread throughout the world, idled by, directed by dark magics that had once been happy to destroy all life. Now, the Scourge under a powerful Scourgelord guarded the rear flank of the hastily assembled expeditionary force.

The flapping of wings could be heard, but the mage didn't need to turn to recognize the limbs in the wind. Behind the Grey wizard, was the Brood of Norzdormu, the Lord of Time. They had led them here, to this frozen place, the Roof of the World. Dread overcame Arinite as the wing flaps grew more numerous. She though of all the dead they had left back in Lordaeron, the towns, villages and people left to rot or worse. She peered toward the Necropoli once more; worse, became one of her new allies.

The dragons hovered above their newly found companions, determined to escort them safely to Wyrmrest Temple, a place where dragons had buried their dead for centuries. There, the aspects would convene and decide the fate of their fallen brother. Anachronos led the flight to their destination, his mind riddled with questions. The lich will rise once more, but as what? The expedition made a turn through the mountains and were soon accompanied by more drakes.

Aldean of the Grey watched forward with his blood running hot. Never before had such an Alliance been made. He gazed ever forward, the wastelands of Dragonblight came into view, and so too the temple that towered in it's center. Then again, we never faced him before. Memories flashed through his mind as his Greys were thrust into the air like rag-dolls days earlier. Sargeras... A black figure with red eyes pierced his very soul at the recollection. He squinted and pressed on with his viewing. Anachronos lowered to the side of the gunship, "Grey! May I have a moment?" Aldean turned and nodded, "Of course dragon!" The creature grunted, "Do you have doubts?" Aldean smirked and let loose a laugh, "Of course! I doubt everything!" The dragon flinched as Aldean's anger burst forth. :All of this is insane! We're on our way to some graveyard to resurrect one of the worst enemies we ever had! Side by side with his skeletons! Helping Light damn Forsaken!" Anachronos smirked, "Then we think alike you and I." Aldean raised an eyebrow, "Say again?" Anachronos continued, "I am not so patient as my father Norzdormu. I have many doubts, but it is good to now you've cast them aside for now." Aldean paused, "Is it true?" The dragon turns, "Aye, it is." He flys away to regroup with his brethren. The lich was really a dragon?

"Aid on the way!" The crews all watched as adventurers came into tow on wyverns and gryphons to join the expedition. Arinite watched as mercenaries had come to join them, some she recognized from Lordaeron, others new. "Heya mon! Webein here to kicka Sargeras ass mon!" The Wisdoctor screamed as his wyvern landed, Chromie behind him. "We've gathered aid from the known corners of the world." She nodded and resumed her flight toward Anachronos. "We'll be there soon!"

((Feel free to join how you see fit, we're on our way to Wyrmrest.))

The flutter of wings turned to the sound of footsteps as the druid shifted into his Elven form on board the massive gunship. Tichrom had received word of the expedition and been directed to board the Skybreaker if he wished to put an end to Sargeras. He had fought many powerful foes before, but they were all in preparation for this, the culmination of a lifetime of hatred for Sargeras.

The Wishdoctor had happily flung himself off of the Forsaken bat. Long had he anticipated this chance to exact vengeance against the Dark Titan. He thought back to when he was in Lordaeron, cut off from the Crusade and aimless in the Scourge infested wilderness. He attempted to help who he can, but met with little success; constantly retreating and failing the groups of resistance he came across. Eventually the troll shaman was greeted by a Forsaken squadron of Grey soldiers, they lived through the campaign and was grateful for the Wishdoctor's healing powers. Now, they've linked up with the fleet, still reeling from the realization they were now allied with the Scourge. The troll watched as adventurers came onto the gunship and spotted a bird. The creature landed and then transformed into a Night elf. The least surprised, Wishdoctor approached the druid. "Heya mon, welcome to da Skybreaka." He paused and looked to the distance towards the oncoming Wyrmrest Temple, "I hope your stomach be strong. Dis gonna be a wild ride." I am not going to fail ya, not dis time.

    ((Welcome Tichrom!))

((Thanks, this is my first RP, hope to have a bio up for this character sometime soon!))

Tichrom grinned at the troll that had approached him. He had not had the experience of working with a troll in a long time, too long. "The strength of my stomach is of no concern, my friend." Walking to the edge of the gunship, he surveyed the fleet of gunships, zeppelins, and drakes. "I hope you have more heroes on the way. If what I was told of this expedition is true, then we face a foe powerful beyond measure."

The troll nodded, "We be fighin' de dread Sargeras himself." He approached the gunship's edge and allowed the chilled breeze to brush against his face. "I bea think' dere will be more on da way. Even though we be on de precipice of war, the Alliance and da Horde will always come togetha in da end." He examines the horizon as more adventurers approach, peoples of all walks of life. "It be in our blood mon, we be hatin de submission da Titan poses. He will die mon." He nodded to the Night elf, somewhat inspired, he himself who had grown so world weary in the past saw the spirit with in the young druid. Da young mon, I don't feel like dat anymore. "He be powerful, but we be spirited. Stay close ta me mon, I'll tend to your wounds on da field. Demons can't stand for long against that combined spirit's love."

((Well this will be a great intro RP for you. We have plenty of experience role-players eager to help. Welcome to War of the Greys!))

Tichrom admired the troll's wisdom; his words gave the young druid hope. When the troll spoke of love, the druid could not help but remember a time when he had once felt it. He had loved once. It was so wonderful, so fulfulling... and it was taken away. Sighing, the elf turned to his new companion. "And so we shall wait. I don't believe I caught your name. Mine is Tichrom Fangmend."

Gimain walks up the stairs to the flight deck as he has never been on a gunship, feeling very anxious and nervous but excited to experience it and to be part of this adventure. As Gimain reached the top of the stairs he stopped so he can take in the view around him, thinking to himself this place is beautiful, as he walks to the edge of the gunship to look over it, taking in the views as he saw the drakes, gunships and zeppelins, thinking to himself that this is a rare moment to see horde and alliance altogether fighting for the same cause.

The troll smirked, "My name mon..." Aye, perhaps I should start usin my real name. No more of di kid's game. "My name is da Wishdocta mon, but call me Jul'Ghana, twas my name when born." He pauses, "I be a long time since I be sayin' dat, but da world be demanding more serious personnel. I will oblige in hopes dat my, our people remain safe."

The troll looked behind him, an adventurer he had never seen before had come from below deck. He looked rather nervous, as if afraid of heights. The troll nodded in his direction, "Heya mon, what be ya name?" I will be da leada da Darkspea and da Horde needs. Dese people will be needin my help. He examined the dwarf before him, gritty and bulky, clearly a warrior. However he also had a thought that perhaps the dwarf was a smith. "Ya profession be precedin' ya mon. We don't get many blacksmiths on such voyages. Good ta see someone wit da skill. Reflects on ya patience I'm sure." Now to rememba if he from Gnomeragon or not, dese people are small small it's hard ta tell!

Gimain heard the troll asking what's his name, my name be Gimain Stonefist from Iron Forge and what be yours? I'm guessing u will be a Shaman? correct? Yes us Dwarves are not use to been in the air, prefer solid ground beneath my feet. Yes smithing is my life and passion, I reckon someone here might need use of my skill during this battle and hoping to find new blades that I can try craft that we don't have at home. Gimain thinks to himself the troll is intriguing him and wanting to learn more. Where's your home land?

((You should use quotes for when he speaks and Italics when your character is in thought. This is will make sense for us reading.))

Jul'Ghana answered the dwarf's query, "I be from da Echo Isles mon. I be born an bred among da Darkspea." He extends his hand as a sign of friendship and good will. "Pleasah be all mine." He looks onward from Gimain and watches the horizon as his mind drifts through the clouds. We be needin more dan dis. Where be our reinforcements?

  11. #11
    ((ok thank u, still learning))

Gimain looks at Jul'Ghana " that be the main tribe for the trolls?" Gimain looks down and shakes Jul'Ghana firmly, " Pleasures all mine meeting a great leader of the dark spear tribe" Gimain looks over the edge of the gunship " I guess this is our reinforcements, hopefully it will be enough for this battle" as Gimain just stars out into the sky.

The Wishdoctor chuckled at the dwarf's ignorance. "We be a tribe yes, but we come from da Stranglthorn Vale. Tis a place where most troll kingdoms reside, like da Gurubashi. We be de Horde's devices now, but we are not the only tribe out dere. In terms of strength, dey may have de advantage. But lemme tell ya dis Gimain mon, we be de strongest in spirit. We strike wherever our enemies reside, dey never see us comin mon. We be de Darkspea and we be knowin when de time be right." He settles down a bit, "But... we are a good people. Ya be havin nothin ta fear, so long as you not meet my brothers on da field ya be fine." He pauses, "Well, against ya on de field. Ya be fightin with dem, Vojiin would likely send us some help." He resumes his composure, "How fare de mountains of Khaz Modan dese days? No sarcasm intended mon."

Tichrom was intrigued by the troll's response. How could one have gone a long time without speaking their name? He decided to make an inquiry about where Jul'Ghana had received the name "The Wishdoctor". Remaining by the edge of the gunship, Tichrom listened to the conversation between Jul'Ghana and what sounded like a dwarf. He chuckled with the Wishdoctor at the dwarf's apparent lack of knowledge of the Horde's people, and decided he should meet the one called "Gimain" for himself. Turning, he smiled at the dwarf. "Greetings, friend. I am Tichrom Fangmend. Long has it been since I last visited the halls of Ironforge; how fares the King?"

The shaman saw the elf had a puzzled look on his face, it seemed he wasn't sure what to call him. The elf asked just that and the troll smirked, "Back in me youth, I thought it propa to have a name dat reflected me goals in life. Ya see mon, I was once a happy, go-lucky troll. I be chasin da ladies mon, and layin out in da sun all day. Since dis war I have grown, and I feel da weight of charge. My name was da Wishdocta because I would make da ladie's 'wishes' come true. I thought da name cleva seein as I was a shaman and witch docta was so close an occupation, or so I once thought." He chuckled, "Jus call me Jul'Ghana if ya don't be mindin', I hope ta eran da respect of my people one day and such a name won't be doin me any favors." He paused, Mon, I'm on a rant today; what am I tellin dese Alliance fer anyway? He stared off into the wastes of Dragonblight and had a moment of clarity. We be brotha in arms now, no need for dis- lack of trust. He turned to the Night elf, "My apologies, I be ramblin'. I'm just eaga to get tings underway."

Gimain looks at Jul'Ghana, " Sorry I not know much of your kind, while be the sounds of it I won't have to worry about fighting against u. Ah the mountains" Gimain looks at the mountains in the distance remembering the mountains of Khaz Modan" They be beautiful with their greens and shrubbery, but it's been a while since I have returned to my home land"

Gimain hears an elf talking behind him, " Nice to meet u Tichrom Fangmend I'm Gimain StoneFist, The king he fares well, he rules Iron Forge well, there are little problems and if there are it's dealt with swiftly, and u come from Kalimdor right? It's just I haven't been out far in the world just Iron Forge and Stormwind." Gimain slowly starts walking up and down the gunship waiting patiently to land on solid ground again

The sound of Frost Wyrms flapping their skeletal wings filled the skies as Ian and His group of elite death knights soared through the skies of dragonblight. Though his forces had taken causalities during the last battle with the Titan, he had "recruited" more to his personal unit of shock troops. In Ian's short time as a death knight he had become an accomplished and decorated Commander of the Scourge. He normally wouldn't help the likes of the Alliance or Horde, but if anyone were to rule this world...it would be him. In the time that passed between the last conflict and now, Ian had set up home in Icecrown. He trained, along side his men, and they ravaged anything living. Aside from a couple run ins with the Ebon Blade they were left in solitude until now. Word of the Titan returning had summoned Ian Black back to the fray...where he belonged.

He approached the the edge of the Skybreaker and called out, "Where is your Leader..." Ian's voice raspy and malevolent. Ian and two of his troops landed on the hull and dismounted their frost wyrms. He walked towards the center of the deck and sized up everyone on board. Ian now wore the detailed armor fitting of a Scourge Lord, but still wore his same blade, the katana, at his waist. He radiated dread and terror, and he loved it.

Arinite turned as the death knight bellowed his demand. "Welcome to the Skybreaker... death knight." She paused as further examination of the being before her became a very awkward experience. The Scourge commander now wore the insidious armor of a Scourgelord instead of the acolyte's hood from Lordaeron. Her eyes narrowed as she sensed his pride. A man, nearly as old as she, but had suffered so much. Yet, he relishes it. "I imagine your necropli are more than accommodating, seeing as there far larger than this ship." She looked behind Ian in search of his master, but Lethean didn't seem to be there. The two had met in Lordaeron and she was less than pleased with the encounter. As Lord Darced commands. Arinite was still coming to grips with the situation at hand, aiding the Scourge whom had killed countless of her comrades. "We will wait here for now, I and the Bronze Flight have sent for reinforcements abroad. Once they arrive Wyrmrest is our first stop, we have to see if we can ressurect your 'master.'

Light, I do this in your name. Give me the strength and serenity to accept the world and save it.

((Sorry creed, it looked like you were still talking about Khaz Modan, which is also winter-like. And Pkol, I just went through your BIO, are you using Machinima Studio? I just got it a couple of months ago and I love it. Do you animate or just have it as a model viewer? Btw, welcome!))

((I just had a model viewer on my old laptop, recently upgraded so I am looking for a new program to redo Ian's look for this RP))

"Very Well, my vanguard stand ready..." He did an about face, cap following behind him and took two steps forward. "Lets get one thing straight, I am not your friend...I have my mission and once that is completed and this titan is dealt with we will be enemies once more." Dark energies pulsed from Ian, but than subsided quickly, He remembered he still was waiting on the dragons. Once the Resurrection for the Lich was complete, he would be able to shed light on the current happenings concerning the Scourge.
