To trade wow gold for diablo gold? I was asking too in trade and some asshole just whispers me and says "Against ToS. Reported" And insta-ignores me, so JW.

Here is a simple answer to any question of this nature:

Is the item you are trading WoW gold for A: Obtainable In world of Warcraft or B: Tradeable through the Auction House or Trade Window or awardable through the master looter function?

If the answer to either of these questions is NO, Blizzard likely considers any exchange of WoW gold for said item to be against the TOS. It really is that simple.

Yes, it is against the ToS.

However there is absolutely nothing stopping you from giving gold to someone in WoW and them giving you gold in Diablo 3. Blizzard won't bat an eyelid. Doing this between friends, or people you know and trust is not a problem.

When it does become a problem and can get you into trouble is if the other person is unhappy about it, or you are unhappy about it, and decide to get Blizzard involved (eg if you give them the WoW gold, then they don't give you the Diablo 3 gold and you write a ticket about it). Blizzard will in this case either just simply tell you they can't help you, and might even give you an official reprimand.

It is also a problem if you are advertising it in trade.

Actually, by how I read it the person was an asshole. Sounds like OP was just asking a question to see if it was against the TOS and instead of being helpful the guy whispers that he is reporting.

Now if he was asking people to do the deed, then I'm wrong. Other than that, your response was pretty informative. I've traded/given in-game gold or items for stuff outside of the game, but only to friends who I trust. Nothing Blizzard can do about it and will not care, as long as it's done without incident.

I could be wrong ofc, but the way I read it, the OP was trying spamming trade with requests to trade WoW gold for Diablo 3 gold, which is exactly the sort of thing that the "report spam" button is there for (which also automatically would have added the OP to his ignore list).

I find it ironic you're unsure it is against ToS (it is) and then come here to call such person an "asshole". There is nothing "asshole" about what that person did.

I report people who do things against ToS (like that stupid casino game) all the time. The primary reason is it isn't a secure transaction, plain and simple. So that means it creates drama, scams, etc. If one person gets away with it, others start doing it too, and sooner but later you got a dirty trade chat with all kind of scams and nonsense.

Its like buying gold, just don't do it, and should you decide to do it at the very least don't do it with strangers. Since you were spamming trade, you were attempting to do it with strangers. You were caught in your attempt, and it is up to Blizzard to decide sanction.
