    Gor'mul's eyes widened as he heard the young shaman's response, his voice got even more bitter and harsher, almost threatening "You dare speak of such non-sense? Here? What will you do if you encounter fellow comrades while you are helping those Alliance scums out? What will you do then? Draw your blades against your comrades and clansmen? Look youngling, I served under Great Orgrim, i serve Warchief Garrosh now, and i lived a life of war and strife long enough to know that a man sometimes have to make choices. You be careful for when that time comes, if you happen to choose the wrong side.. Well, just get that job done and be out with it, and i will report Warchief only the success here.".

    ((By the way dude, it's Orgrim, no second m!))

    "Yes, I dare. It was Orgrim who saved me from those internment camps. He saved us not so that we could continue this pointless fighting, but to allow us a chance to redeem our race for the atrocities we had committed. It is Garrosh who seeks to burn down his legacy. If I see any of my brothers or sisters while helping the Alliance, I will do nothing. If they attack, then I will cut them down. They are traitors to the Horde's legacy." Growled Drakgul, his stance a bit wider than before.

    "I hope you live to see the irony of your words, old man. Garrosh's regime will not last much longer, and the true Horde will rise from his ashes. I pray to the Ancestors that you don't suffer much for your own choice." Said the shaman, as he turned, and walked to the stables to fetch his wolf. ((I assume that we're in Hammerfall))

    (( Yes you are in Hammerfall ))

    Gor'mul spat on the hard soil and murmured "Darned humie-lovin' softies.." as he watched the young orc move away. As Drakgul made his way towards stables, he was interrupted by an undead in fine tuxedo "Drakgul, i presume? Doctor Gregory Victor, at your service. Now, if you'll excuse me for my curiosity, as i eavesdropped on your little debate with the grumpy old veteran of ours over there, i believe you are headed out of the palisade, right? Can i ask you a favor please? I have a certain new method in poison cure. It actually works well on hypothermia cases too. I would like it tried out on the field, but as you can see i am a little occupied with the mass amount of wounded flowing out of Arathi Basin at the moment. Could you be so kind to try it on the field for me?".

    The shaman looked the undead over. He never trusted the Forsaken, but they were his allies. He at least deserved a polite denial. "I am sorry, but I would not be able to lend much assistance. My path does not take me anywhere where I would be able to really test this... I doubt I will find any people who are poisoned on my journey, and I'm not going to intentionally poison myself when I have a mission I am honor-bound to complete." Said Drakgul, giving a curt bow, and continuing on his way.

    ((Thanks Madgod for helping out. It's a shame Saerwen got distracted away from here but things happen. Time to get this going again!))

    Oliver was at a loss for words. The fool put ME in charge? What makes him think I won't just order these men to go back and I just walk away? My reputation is at stake though... and my laboratory... and.. my RESEARCH! I'll go along with his little plan as long as it takes me back to my research. "Fine Galen. We will continue the sweep and send a messenger bird back to Galen's Fall with whatever information we find." Galen nodded and walked off.

    The death guards looked at each other for a moment and a small barely audible response was said, "Why are we taking orders from an alchemist?" The senior death guard elbowed the speaker and said, "Orders Captain?" "Yes... well.. umm... Right. Let's move on then. We find the leader of this band and we... interrogate him." Oliver let loose a mad laughter that took the death guards by surprise. Oliver began thinking of ways he could use the interrogation as a way to experiment some of his more painful poisons. "Yes Captain. I suggest we check the next few houses over."

    The group, led by a senior death guard moved from house to house looking for any signs of more Syndicate. The first house held no people or information and the second proved the same fate. "Where in the hell are these people?" As if on queue, a patrol of Syndicate rounded a corner outside the third house. The group wasn't noticed but they seemed to be on guard. Suddenly, a whistle was blown outside the first barn and a large group of the men came running by to investigate.
    "There's trace amounts of blood and all of them are missing sir." "I found three bodies dragged into haybales nearby sir! We're under attack!"
    "Quiet down you fools. If they're still here then we have to find them. They'll run back to undead bitch and ruin our plans." The Syndicate members scattered in search of the intruders. "Get down! That man giving the orders must be in charge here. He's the one we'll have to get to. I need you all to create a distraction but make sure you get out of here in time. Meet back at the southeast edge of the farm in two hours." "What about you sir? We're supposed to protect you."

    Oliver smirked and reached into his satchel. He finally revealed a small vial with a bluish liquid inside. With one hand he started drinking the potion and with the other he tightly gripped his leather pouch which hung close to his chest. The pouch began to glow a bright blue which he had to stifle under his robes. In a manner of moments Oliver was just... vanished. "Where did he go? What magic is this?" "Not magic fools. Science! Hahahah...." The death guards finally understood why an alchemist would be put on such a dangerous mission and they grinned in anticipation. "Yes Captain!" They saluted and slinked off towards the opposite end of the farm.

    Oliver walked slowly but deliberately towards the man who was speaking before and waited. The man was wearing a soldier's uniform and was decorated with more than one medal. They didn't seem to be official medals given out by the king, but more like ones given to club members. I don't know enough about these Syndicate members to make any preliminary judgements. I'm not sure how close they are in relation to the Alliance army. There was a sudden explosion that sounded loudly on the other side of the farm. Oliver smiled.

    "GO men go! Find out what that was. If you see anyone kill them on sight. No survivors! You heard my orders men. Now!!" Every able bodied man in the field ran to the source of the explosion and Oliver thought to himself, I don't think they're making it out alive. No matter... we Forsaken are quite replaceable.

    As Drakgul and Garom walked away, the old shaman softly rose his voice.
    "Sadly, it tends to be fruitless to lecture those who follow our new warchief about their errors. We just can pray to our ancestors that they don't fall to any form of corruption before this whole ordeal gets better." Garom let out a heavy sigh.

    "You should also not risk antagonizing Garosh's loyal servants. Passionate young blood with the right hearts will be much needed when the Horde is bound to change again. But I can see this is difficult with the fires of passion burning so hot in a young heart. But let me tell you, you are bound to make mistakes that can and will change your life." Garom looked to the distant Horizon, as he unbound his wolf. He then adressed Darkgul again.
    "So, do you know this area? Or do we need to ask for further directions?"

    ((Last post before bedtime!))

    The young shaman sighed. "I know. It pains me to see how eager the Horde has become to spill blood. I was taught of our heritage and that it was our abandoning of such that led us to our imprisonment. To see our people willingly go down that same path once more is like a thousand knives in my spine."

    Reaching the stables, Drakgul untied his wolf and mounted. In response to his elder's question, he said "I do not know it perfectly, but I know the rough areas where the elements gather. There should be one directly to the east of us. We should start our work there.

    (( I believe you meant west, not east. There is a kobold cave to the east but it is not relative to us at the moment. As a side note, gonna try out coloring text as it is very hard even for me to understand who is speaking, as i try to handle many people at once. ))

    "But.. But.." Doctor Victor tried to continue the discussion for a chance of persuation but shamans just walked away without uttering another word. "Ah the illiterate orcs and their ignorance.. Hypothermia is not posion, it is a case of freezing! And the wilderness is crawling with water elementals.. But how could one such as that nomad may know its meaning? Maybe i should blame myself for using academic language to those whom pray to their ancestors for healing.. Expecting scientific understanding from them.. Can't believe myself, the Head Surgeon of Horde Trauma, contending with belated fools.." he ranted as he returned back to his shackle to attend the wounded.

    *********

    Teledor prepared to channel even bigger magic to form up some treants to fight the elementals, but Mildred's shout interrupted him "Teledor! You should restrain yourself from further exhaustion! We need your power for Ralof's revival! Do not engage in the fight anymore, leave the rest to us!". After slaying another elemental with his blade, Faolan also nodded "I agree with Lady Knight here. Leave the rest to me and my men.". Teledor looked at the group and saw the determination in their eyes. "This better work as intended, otherwise this will be a hassle i will never forgive myself about." he thought and pulled himself up, releasing the rest of the elementals he has been holding. Two Highland warriors that were protecting him shouted a fierce battle cry, and smashed themselves upon the elementals that came for their escort. "These men are brave above anything i have seen so far. They barely know me yet they risk everything to keep me safe and see their Lord well again. Incredible.." he commented, almost murmuring. But he was not one to stand by and watch others fight for him, or for he held dear. With a beastial growl, he shape-shifted into a huge bear and charged headlong into the group of earth elementals. He forced his skin to be hard as a bark, and his huge paws smashed elementals into tiny bits of dust in mere single smashes. He was dead set to clear the site for the ritual as soon as possible, and he was ready to even risk getting himself wounded. Yet, the more elementals they dispatched, the bigger a feeling grew inside him. He could feel the force that was emaneting from the site, especially radiating from the stone in the middle, and he felt.. Strange. "No matter what, this site definitely has power in it, which raises our chance of success. I should focus on the task at hand." he thought as he continued his feral rampage, meanwhile he totally forgot about the noise he heard back in at the bush.

    ((When I said east, I meant east. A natural formation such as a cave is an excellent place to meditate on the elementals, and that place has been more than likely cleared of Kobolds. It's not like RP has to perfectly reflect questing in-game. Things don't respawn, and there's little need for random quests to do whilst working through the plotline.))

    ((And yeah, like I've said what seems like hundreds of times, colored text makes things so much easier!))

    (( Well, it is perfectly okay with me if you would like to take on whatever route you want, i just thought it was a typo as i have been trying to point to west myself. Apologies. I believe there are many kobold living on those hills and not only in the cave itself. I think, as a vermin-like race, they would have a high rate of reproduction, which may result in a new infestation within a couple of months, thus rendering a comlete and utter clear of such a cave nigh impossible. They also hold this particular site sacred, holy of some sorts, which would explain why they would not give it up even after many a massacre. That is what i would assume in RP at the least. As a side note; i don't want to give away spoilers and spoil the fun for everyone, but nothing i tried to imply so far can be percieved as side-questing. They may seem so, but trust me, they will fit right back in the main story line somewhere [if i can succeed in managing this RP that is], this or that way, with a small or big impact, eventually. We are here to save someone after all, not save the Arathi Highlands by doing petty level 30-40 quests right? I'm glad its more readable by the way. ))

    The leader of this 'Syndicate' was barking orders at his underlings. Sweat was forming at his brow and he looked nervous. The coward sent all hands to investigate the explosion until he was alone in the field... Not completely alone. Oliver walked right behind the human and began to cackle. "Haha... hoohhohahah.. hahagoahah... HAHAHAHHHAAAHAA!!!!" His laugh grew louder and louder. The man looked around in terror and began yelling for help.

    That was when he noticed what he had done... there was nobody left to help him. Oliver's demonic laugh echoed in his mind and the man completely lost it. He felt as though he was going mad. He began to see ghosts in his peripheral vision. He saw the three men who were found in the haybale stand back up and walk towards him like the Lich King's armies. Fear had gripped the man's mind. Slowly the man began grow tired and his mind filled with nightmarish images of hellspawn and brimstone. He eventually passed out from exhaustion.

    Oliver put the cap back on the vial he had opened. When mixed the air the fear potion turns into a gaseous state and can be inhaled. The victim begins to hallucinate and their heart rate accelerates immensely. The only defense the body has is to pass out from exhaustion to prevent the heart from exploding. He grinned at the results of the poison and began scribbling notes into his small notebook he always kept in his satchel. Oliver grabbed the man up and quickly made for a hideaway until his allies could meet up at the rendezvous.

    2 hours later, the outer sides of the camp had become deserted. Without their leader, a few of the remaining Syndicate members went in search of another high ranking officer to come help them out. They were like lost puppies and stayed on watch on the inside of the farm proper. The death guards arrived precisely on time and they were amazed at how this alchemist had been able to subdue the man. They grinned in anticipation. This was the part they had been waiting for. The interrogation...

    ((Meng, I was hoping you could take over both sides of the interrogation as the senior death guard and the captured Syndicate leader. I want to make sure your story goes in the right direction))

    Smack! "You will talk dog!" Smash! "Or we will make you talk!" Smack! "Either this, or you speak in undeath!".. Syndicate captain spat another tooth out of his bloody mouth, he was tied up to a farm fence, and was tortured ever since his capture. Oliver sat on a hay bale and grinned in an evil manner, obviously enjoying the sight. Deathstalker Sergeant Mason hit him even harder, without any signs of fatigue or pain, as undead knew naught of both. His bone hands were covered in mail gloves, this only added to the pain of the miserable scum he was interrogating. No one was coming for him, such was the way of Alterac cowards. His men already mostly fled the farm, leaving their leader to the horrors of Forsaken. Oliver's patience grew thinner by each hit, as he enjoyed the sight, he was disturbed by the unnecessary resistance this particular man was showing. It was not really necessary, he was going to talk anyways. Sergeant landed another blow, and one of his eyebrows was wide open, a flesh wound flooded with blood rapidly, covering half of the man's face with red. He passed out by the hit, but soldiers just used the essence Oliver gave them before the interrogation, which woke him up immediately with its evoking odour. Oliver gestured an halt to the Sergeant as he was about to land another blow on where the man's face used to be, he slowly approached and bowed to his ear, whispering something. Captive captain started shaking hardly, trying to let himself loose of the ties that bound him. Horror covered his face and he moaned in desperation. Oliver cackled manically and yelled "Obey now, pest! Or you will face the inevitable! Tell me where are the explosives! What is the rigging signal? Who will give the order? How many men do you have in Arathi? Answer!". Suddenly, the man bowed his head in admission, then started talking with a whispering voice. Sergeant bowed his head to listen to what he would say, but as he was shocked by what he heard, Syndicate captain suddenly got his right arm loose of his ties and revealed a hidden blade, almost stabbing the sergeant in the back. Oliver took a step backwards as as surprise unraveled. But before he could swing the blade a Forsaken trooper jumped on him and severed his arm which was holding the knife, saving Sergeant from serious injury. Captain roared in agony and passed out, not to ever wake up. Blood splashed on the floor as his right arm was severed off his body. Sergeant punched the guardsman who was responsible to tie the captive up, blaming him for the incident, but Oliver inspected the man's right hand to realise that he removed one of his finders to let himself loose. He saw a strange glowing object under the shirt, so he reached and grabbed it. It was a strange medallion, adorned with a glowing red crystal of some sorts. He quickly put the necklace in his pocket before anyone would see it, as it obviously held some kind of power that Oliver would have liked to understand. He rose up and with a furious manner yelled "Sergeant! Stop bothering the clueless clod.". Sergeant stood in attention and said "Apologies Captain. If only we could have interrogated him longer.." but was interrupted by Oliver "What happened cannot be changed now, so enough with your petty excuses. What did you hear? What did he say before he attacked you?". Sergeant hesitated but Oliver's deadly gaze immediately made him talk "Sir, i believe he said something like 'You are too late.. The arcway will be blown.. Cullen will have your head..' but i am not entirely-" but he could not finish his sentence as Oliver gestured him to stop. He had to think now. Some 'Cullen' guy, obviously connected to those Alterac thugs.. And this 'arcway'.. Must be the entrance of the tunnel then.. So they will blow it up after all.. Sergeant was not patient and said "Captain, permission to speak.", Oliver looked on his face with a displeased gesture and replied "Granted.". Sergeant said "Sir, with all due respect, we must make haste towards the dwarven tunnel immediately. It seems a detonation is imminent and according to Prince Galen's orders we must prevent it at all costs.". Oliver gave him a look.. Yes, definitely, our people is very replaceable, with an understanding such as this.. "Look, i don't know what 'all costs' means for you but i do not plan to die again soon, and considering you group of amateurs' approach last time, we will have a hard time reaching our goals. And this 'Cullen' guy sounds like trouble, so i reckon they will be entrenched and well prepared for anyone. We will make haste there, but with a more subtle approach.. And maybe even.. Yes, that might even work.." and he gave men moving orders.

    (( Here you go. Dont be afraid to take stuff into your hands, its okay. Now you are expected to intervene Syndicate forces at that tunnel entrance to the north. You can approch them in any way you want, you may go for an head on assault or drag an ogre warband towards them from the nearby mound, you have a wide variety of choices ranging from crazy to fun Feel free to RP this Cullen guy and his cronies, they are expendable. I will give you further clues as to what to do in RP further on, don't worry, just follow the white rabbit ))

    ((Oh you misunderstood. I'm not worried about throwing the RP in a wacky direction. I was just hoping you could add in some clues I wasn't privy to [the mysterious glowing medallion is a good example]. Plus I don't like talking to myself too much :P ))

    "Alright then. Round up a few horses from the farmhouse and let's get moving west. Though I'd LOVE to drop an archway onto some unsuspecting Alliance dogs, we can't let this become an incident of war. Let's go."
    As Oliver and the death guards started their journey to the tunnel, he was playing out scenarios in his head on how best to approach this. These buffoons would have us run straight in for glory... and die with nobody being the wiser. We could coerce the lug-headed ogres to charge in... that wouldn't be hard. But where's the flair?! Hmm... Many ideas raced through Oliver's mind when suddenly he knew what the plan would be.

    He began furiously rummaging through his satchel until he revealed a larger flask with a bubbling, green liquid inside. He began to laugh maniacally, "This is it! This is how we'll do it. And we'll make sure the blame goes in the "right" direction." Now I'll need these idiots to slay a few raptors.

    ((Think if this next section like a montage. Italics are what is actually happening and purple font is what Oliver THINKS before hand how things will play out))

    The plan was simple yet complex and needed stealth and timing. Oliver knew that since the farmhouse had been attacked that the Syndicate members there were in a frenzy looking for their next-in-command. They would have to continue supplying the tunnel operation with food and water... and that's where they would strike. Without proper supervision, things were likely to get mixed up and not counted right. Oliver's team began slaying a few raptors and fileting them very nicely. Oliver would have to use the vial of plague he had and infect the meat and attach it to a supply wagon heading to the tunnel entrance. The death guards waited in a nearby bush as the wagon was making it's way east. The freshly poisoned meat still looked good enough that they would not notice the 'extra ingredient'. One of the Forsaken threw an unseen rock at a horse and it bolted off with the few Syndicate guards chasing after. A simple distraction would be more than enough to throw the humans off their game. Quickly and quietly, the Forsaken added the raptor filets to the pile and went back into hiding as the Syndicate guards returned and continued their brisk pace to the tunnel. The food will arrive and stories will be told about what had happened at the farm. A feast to remember those who had fallen will take place. A silent prayer was said for the captain and for the few members found dead in the haybales. "We will find out who did this... and they will pay with their LIVES!!" "Here here! For the captain. He was an asshole but he kept us strong." "Let's eat!" By daylight, the Syndicate clowns will be dead as doornails and we will walk right in and begin disassembling the explosives.

    As dawn approached, their was no sound coming from the encampment at the tunnel. The death guards smirked at one another and began to creep forwards. "Don't be reckless! There is no way we know what is going on behind the tent flaps. Keep your guard up and check them out." At the dinner table their were three bodies laying across the counter-top with dried foam at their mouths. Oliver quickly scribbled some notes into his notebook about the affects on humans and smiled. They counted nearly 15 bodies before getting to the large tent which they assumed was this Cullen's tent. "Be ready... I'm going to remove the curtain." As one of the lower ranking death guards placd a bony hand on the cloth a knife ripped through and stabbed the Forsaken in the skull and he dropped like a rag doll. Oliver's eyes widened as suddenly the tent flew back and revealed a small contingent of surviving humans.

    "What a petty trick but who would expect anything more from a damned, brainless Walker. Show 'em who's in charge of Arathi boys!"

    Garom nodded at the younger shaman, as he voiced his feelings towards the hordes development. The older orc was pained by this development beyond measure, given his past, but he wouldn't let this griev stand in the way of his duty.

    "I do not know this land, so if you think there is a proper place for communing with the elements to the east, I trust your judgement."

    The older shaman quickly rummaged through his bag, and checked the contents, before mounting his wolf.

  18. #38
    "There is a cave of cultural significance to the kobolds in the foothills. It's as good a place as any to commune with the elements aside from their circles to the west, but that is a quest which takes days, not hours, and from how that orc sounded, they didn't have days." said the young shaman. "Let us hurry, so that we can be done with this task."

    ~~~
    Several hours later, they came to the entrance of the cape. There were no kobolds to be found, which was relatively common nowadays, considering that the Horde killed them off regularly. There might be more inside, but for now, their pathway was clear.
    "Well," said Drakgul, dismounting his wolf, "we're here."
  19. #39
    Garom inhalted the cool but moldy air of the cave entrance. "This seems like a proper place to commune with the earth. a good choice." Garom bowed his head slightly. He casually started walking into the cave. He had his axes stored in his wolfs saddle bags, and only had his pair of brass knuckles with him. He didn't count the kobolds as serious threat. He shortly grabbed into his leather bag and searched for a certain item. As he felt its rough edges, he nooded satisfied and continued walking. "I think we should find the place of the cave that is deepest, most encased by rock. The earths resonance should be strongest there.
    Without casualties from the group, last of the elementals fell around the circle . Mildred knelt down and took hasty breaths. She was totally exhausted because of the intense fighting, and there were many rabble around her when the fight was over, as remnants of her adversaries. After she caught her breath she said a silent prayer to thank the Light for granting her victory, and she also prayed for Ralof's well being.
    Teledor was in his night elven form again, sitting at a corner drinking a herbal solution he brought with himself. He felt rejuveneted and renewed, as his mental calmness came back to him and tiny wounds and scratches from his last combat healed up quickly. Faolan was standing beside one of the men, who was wounded by a blunt blow to his right side. His friends were helping him remove his armor, to better observe the wound. Ralof was still lying half-dead on the rag-tag stretcher, barely breathing now. Teledor stood up and walked near Ralof, gesturing Faolan for help. "I'll heal his wounds as soon as we are done reviving Ralof." he said, assuring the men and Faolan. Faolan shouted "Take up defensive positions around the circle! Do not let anyone intervene with the ritual!" and his men saluted him "By your orders Senechal!", then they moved behind the group, standing in an arc near the outer stone circle. Teledor and Faolan brought Ralof near the center stone, a small, roughly carved piece of rock, with a hole in the mid of it which glowed with a faint purple. They laid him down near the stone, and Teledor gestured Milly and Faolan to stand back "This should take up some time, please stand back. I do not want any harm be to you, if something goes wrong.". They nodded and walked back, next to the men-at-arms, and stood there to watch the druid work.
    Teledor cleared his mind, taking a deep breath and closing his eyes, he focused on Ralof's body. Then he placed the precious seed that he has been carrying with him, on Ralof's chest. He could feel that the seed had already connected with the power stone, setting unseen roots of energy cords on it, draining power and channeling it in itself. He could not feel the strange feelings he had earlier. There was nothing. It was like the whole site was silenced, focused.. Like the cairn was watching Teledor and Ralof closely, waiting for what is to come. Teledor dismissed the unnecessary thoughts as there was no need for them: It was obvious that his earlier feelings were of stress or of the hostile elementals. Now that they were safe here, or so he convinced himself, he had to focus on the task at the hand. He began channeling healing magic on the seed, and it started to glow with a dim green light.
    Snuffles hastily climbed the stairs of the old and crumbling castle, with its short legs it was quite an effort. Its tongue was out of its mouth, and it happily barked at the sight of its master as it reached the grand hall. Loyal animal hastily approached master's legs and began licking his boots, letting out excited hums and happy barks in between. Lord Falconcrest slowly bowed down from his throne and reached for his dog, gently petting Snuffles. Beast let out another excited bark before he recieved his prize, an half eaten piece of meat. While he was munching on it at the corner, Falconcrest raised his head and looked at the shadows of the hall, and said with a harsh voice "Come out of the shadows, Singer.". Masked woman slowly walked out of the shadows, a hidden smile on her face. "I don't know how you manage to detect my approach everytime." she said with a soft and mystical voice. Falconcrest laughed briefly, then said "If not, i would have been dead by now, and you or someone else would have been the leader.". Singer approached him, saluted with respect and Falconcrest said "Report.". "A contingent of Deathstalkers hit our position last night. They killed some of the men and.. A captain." replied Singer. Falconcrest's eyes flared with fury, "What?" he shouted in his rage. Singer giggled and added "That is not all. They tortured him as it seems. And they must have an aphotecary of sorts with them. Seems like a specialist group. They must be after the Cullen's operation.". Falconcrest fisted his throne and jumped on his feet, thinking. "We cannot let them interfere." he said angrily. Singer added "There are also reports of a travelling group of Cornwalls. Scouts claim they headed for east, most probably towards Pointe. They also seem to have a rush, with someone wounded on tow.". Then she said "But Cullen is at the tunnel, so there should be no prob-" but Falconcrest intercepted "The last time i thought that, they nearly killed me. They even killed Otto. If not for Marez, we all would have kicked the bucket by now. And now she is also dead, so.. No. I will not take chances this time. Forget about the Cornwalls at the moment, those forsaken must be dealt with, and swiftly.". A shadowy figure approached from the other entrance and said "Yes, my Lord. You will not need to do that yourself, neither.".
