Not sure if this is legal on this forum but here I go

13 years without sex. Is that normal? I'm a healthy 43 year old man. I used to be quite the player in my 20's. But one day I just stopped caring about sex or having a relationship with a woman.

Anyone else go this long without intimate contact with someone of the opposite sex?

I know of a few. Although, they've found other things in their life they would rather do. "Not everyone enjoy having a partner"

I'm looking forward to the day when I finally lose my sexdrive. Fucking thing ruins everything.

The thing is though. I still love women but the mere thought of a relationship scares me.

Does losing virginity at age 27 count? But then, I think my 42 year old brother is still a virgin. He never had a girlfriend.

Not that long going for me, but its awhile. I lost interest and I'm a loser so no woman would want me, makes it rough

If you deem "normal" as being what most people do, it's probably not normal.

I don't think it's a problem, though. If you feel like your life is good as it is, and you know what it is you're going without (Which it sounds like you do) then I don't see the issue. It seems to be a bit taboo in society currently, but there's nothing wrong with being asexual.

Have you talked to your doctor about it? It may be hormonal, or it may just be you.

While I've definately gone longer without intimate contact with the opposite sex - that would be because my one experience with the opposite sex was enough to confirm my preference ;P (and that was 32 years ago!!!) At 48 I'm still very....active - although only with my SO of 19 years !

"Stopped caring about sex" can mean different things.
Did you lose your sex drive itself? That's probably a medical issue, and you should talk to a doctor.
Did you just stop wanting to deal with a relationship, but still have a sex drive (maybe porn or whatever takes care of it)? If it bothers you that you don't have a relationship, you should see a shrink.

Either way if your doctor says your healthy and you're happy you certainly don't need to be getting laid to have a good life.

    edit: after reading this:

The thing is though. I still love women but the mere thought of a relationship scares me.
Yeah, go see a shrink. You need to work out whatever's bothering you.

Does having your heart broken by the women you love make you celibate for the rest of your life?

Honestly, no it shouldn't. It should form who you are as a person - and while it should hurt - it shouldn't be that devestating. If that's where this is going - you should definately think about talking to someone about it.

I guess I should. But i'm one of those persons that doesn't go to the hospital until they are almost dead from some wound.

Hospital's not the right place, therapy/counselling may be.

Also, as you're clearly looking for an intimate relationship, ignore the whole sex thing. If you just want sex, hire a prostitute if that's feasible.

If you have a family doctor, and you have a decent relationship with them - try talking to them - they're usually (at least I've found with mine) great sounding boards - and may refer you to someone. Or if - like in many companies these days - your job has a 'support' system - you may be able to talk to someone annonymously.

Just to hash it out - may make you feel differently. It also may not - this may just be how you are - and if you're in a happy place right now - then there's nothing wrong with that.

I could care less about prostitutes and massage parlours..my brother keeps pushing them on me. Women my age now would be too complicated and have to much upkeep. I watch commercials from eharmony and shit like that and they all want a guy that runs marathons..spontaneous..lets go on a hot air balloon ride thru the wine country...super funny and ready to do some weird shit on the drop of a dime.

argh..I hate this world we live in now.

anyways, its been a minute for me, but i really don't care. i'm more focused on getting school done and getting into my field of study. women just get in the way, are too distracting, and tend to get on my nerves.

although i wouldnt mind a woman that only drops in when she wants some good ole fashion sweat box sex and doesnt want to have anything to do with a relationship
