I might be a special snowflake and keep red fire
I might be a special snowflake and keep red fire
I made a warlock just so I could get green fire.
Furries start out wanting to be an animal because it sounds like an exciting, romantic, magical thing to be, like in fairytales. But then they end up wanting to be a ferocious wild animal so they could tear the faces off all the people who laughed at them for wanting to be an animal. This is why so many furries identify themselves as wolves, foxes, tigers, or dragons.
I think overall green might be better if only because you don't similar to a fire mage. The color is a bit more unique in that sense, though I expect some form of glyph to change it back to red to come around at some point if it isnt already on the ptr or something.
It needs to be 20% cooler.
I'll do the questline, but doubt I'll use green fire. Because I doubt I will be playing Destro.
-"Blizz could send every subscriber a check for $100 and people would complain that it wasn't $150"
I have no plans to get it because I don't care for it at all. If it goes fast I might do it when I'm bored just to see the quests etc.
Wait, they implemented green fire, and it is aquired through a quest line?
I remember making that suggestion on the WoW official forums 2 years ago. Wow.
Wish they'd just scrap the whole Fire thing for Locks and leave them on Mages. ALl that wonderful work to Shadowbolt and Destro ends up being Fire based.....
I have two specs, and neither of them are Destruction. I'm not going to be in any hurry to get the green fire. It's not necessary, and I never understood how fervently the Warlock community pushed for this.

Come and play SWTOR where you won't be disturbed by dirty foreigners - Bioware
I agree that I could care less about changing the color of my fire...and a terrible 489 ring.
Really? A discussion if the color red or green is better? I prefer blue...

You are so mean to copper sulfate fire:
Fire color depends on what you burn.
dark red = lithium chloride
yellowish green = borax
green = copper sulfate
blue = copper chloride
violet = 3 parts potassium sulfate, 1 part potassium nitrate (saltpeter)
purple = potassium chloride
white = magnesium sulfate
So no, fire should not always be red.

Should be titled "Is anyone else a WoW hipster like me"
just saying.
I didn't know your warlock was a chemist. Mine just summons fire from the pits of hell, which has a shortage of geeks that enjoy burning stuff for curious chemical reactions.
So yea, red.
Also, we know. This information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colored_fire has been posted ad nauseam.

Unless the story line is cool I probably will stick with the normal red. I play affliction so no big interest in green fire.
the warlock in my guild explained to me that it was a running joke in the warlock forums a couple of years ago
Had something to do with them wanting to fix their class and blizzard sugessting a visual update of the firespells instead
So it ended up in "yay, our class sucks, but we are getting green fire!!11"
"And all those exclamation marks, you notice? Five?
A sure sign of someone who wears his underpants on his head."
