Blizzard separate feral and bear into two specs giving a total of 4 specs to choose from for druids.
Can we expect a 4th spec for other classes in the future?
It's hard enough already to balance the 34 specs we have. A fourth spec is not needed and would be a big waste of development.

4th spec only happened to druids because Feral had 2 specs build into one tree. It won't happen to any other classes. Not now, not ever.
People also seem to forget that Blizzard completely redid the Druid, Warlock, Priest, and Mage classes along with adding an entirely new class (and a new race). Ironically 4th specs would take less work.
I think it's the billionth topic about the same thing in 2012, and there is probably around a million with the exact same name.
No, there won't be. Period.
I'd rather we get a new class than to see 4th specs on everybody. 4th spec sounds incredibly boring in comparison to getting a new class with 3 specs. I still want to see the Bard appear in WoW.

Yes pls! I want mages to have an arcane based healer spec. If not a 4th spec, then just revamp arcane to be a healer spec. Its so boring as dps anyways. And being a pure dps sucks.
Some classses could easily support a 4th spec.
Others - even today - have trouble supporting 2 . The three specs were brought in at least partly to balance talent point expenditure and while the revamp allowed for a 4th spec, it also removed much of the necessity for three.
However, while it might be neat to see a major rejigging of specs, swith some expanding and others collapsing, its unlikely to happen.
Adding an additional specialisation to every class would be a massive undertaking and throw the game off balance. Even adding them one by one comes off as extremely unlikely, and it's better to look into improving and fixing the already existing specialisations.

I've often wondered if this will happen or not (not if it should, if it will).
Blizzard have admitted on numerous occasions that the game's bloated with too many abilities, that they like to add new ones each expansion, and don't like removing old ones due nostalgia (among other reasons), they've openly admitted it's a problem they're not sure how to tackle.
If they added a 4th spec to the remaining classes, we all get new abilities without adding to the bloat of existing specs.
Never say never.
Those arguing about balance, it's irrelevant. The reason we have messed up balance is the new talent tree's and lack of testing beforehand for overpowered burst and ofc the OP instant CC's.
Say for instance they added a Warlock tank spec, they would just make it so they scale from Vengeance. All cooldowns will be exclusive to that spec only.
Same goes for a Paladin caster spec. They would have access to the same heals as Prot and Ret, but instead deal damage through ranged attacks instead of melee.
While every class might not get a 4th spec, I would not be surprised if we see at least one more before WoW ends.
Hope not. That would make PvP even more imbalanced. Dear lord... just thought about how bad it would be...
