If someone gave you a hand gun for a present what would you do with it?

I know this is a loaded question but i'm curious. I would be worried constantly about it in my house. I live in an old crackhead apartment and be stressed if I got robbed while I was at work and it went missing.

How do people store these things without the constant stress of them going missing and falling into the wrong hands?

    I'd sell it.
'Twas a cutlass swipe or an ounce of lead
Or a yawing hole in a battered head
And the scuppers clogged with rotting red
And there they lay I damn me eyes
    All lookouts clapped on Paradise
All souls bound just contrarywise, yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

Refuse it or not given the option hand it to the police/look for a safe place to give it away. /England and no license.

I really couldn't consider a gun as a gift tbph, it just does not compute.

Because of this, I couldn't tell you wth I'd do with it.. I'd be stumped.

I'd return it or give it to the police as I have no license for one and wouldn't want to get screwed out of a license in the future.

On the assumption that you really are confused about storage and not just trolling, you store them in a gun safe. That keeps them secure and not falling into the wrong hands.

If it was legal here. I'd keep it but stash it locked away somewhere in my house.

Check the paperwork behind it, take it to the local PD and have it checked for criminal ties, have it licensed to me if it was clean and keep it my safe at home? :X

I would learn how to use it and take it apart. I love mechanical things.

I'd keep it and be thankful, would not be the first or last I had.

Practice with it learn to use it properly

Same thing I did with the AR-15 and M1 Garand my father gave me 3 years ago, keep them safe until I need them or go to the range. Rifles go in a heavy standing gun safe, handgun would go in a safe like this one http://www.gunvault.com/minivault-gv1000s.html so I could access it quickly if I needed it.

But the FIRST thing I would do is go buy some ammo and head to my local gun range.
A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don’t have one, you’ll probably never need one again.

They don't have to be huge.
