    ((Ok sorry, wasn't sure if Madgod had a plan for them.))

    The Pandaren realized the children had no clue as to what was going on and decided to take back his question. "Very well, stay with me for now. I'll keep you safe until this excursion is over." Hopefully.

    Faust gave the old dwarf a nod He is going to give himself a heart attack before this whole ordeal is over, regardless someone had to have missed something in the initial search. Faust walked towards the blacksmith looking around for anything out of the normal. Why do these magician types over complicate these kind of thing He exhaled a deep sigh.

    The others were getting to searching the town. That was good. Duronos headed out to the meeting hall, to see if the pandaren had missed anything.

    Duronos entered the building to see a cluttered main hall, filled with upturned and broken benches and a cast iron chandelier bent angrily after being dropped on its side. Nothing in there but heartache. Perhaps there was a basement? Meeting halls typically had a storage level if they needed extra seats for a particularly significant meeting. He found the stairs down into the lower level, taking a torch off its sconce to see.

    The room had some chairs stacked in a corner. Looking around, he didn't see anything that could be used as a door, secret or no. There wasn't even anything under the dust-gathering rugs. Frustrated, and a little tired of carrying around the torch, he placed it in the only available sconce on the wall and leaned against it., arms crossed and brow furrowed, wondering what to do next. He heard an audible click, like a hidden mechanism just activated. Out of sheer luck, he had found the entrance! But when looking at the wall in question, he couldn't find the keyhole. The light of the torch didn't hit it well enough. Not daring to take the torch again in fear of the mechanism failing, he fumbled his way out of the basement and out of the meeting hall, looking for the others.

    ((So, I hate to have excuses and the like, but guess who forgot his laptop charger when heading home for the weekend? I found a temporary computer here and my laptop should be able to charge if my brother's adapter is right, but for now, I'll have to make due.))

    ((No worries on this end man. Take your time if you need.))

    Lou Shen noticed Duronos Ironhammer emerge from the town hall and immediately stood. The dwarf's face had a mixture of excitement and worry painted on his face. The pandaren felt he must have found something that he himself must have missed. "Duronos! Did you find something?"

    Ryan's gaze drifted from the key towards Duronos. The dwarf had clearly found something in the meeting hall. Ryan was annoyed as that was the next place he was going to search and truthfully should of been the first place but his anger got the better of him. He didn't see Nehlya yet and decided to let her continue off where ever she was. He clenched the key and returned it underneath his cloak. He stood by the group already forming and waited.

    ((Gather up peeps! ^.^))

    "Aye, nothing at the forge.."Faust noticed everyone gathered up around the meeting hall and made his way over. "So either we are about to witness another battle royal courtesy of all the hot heads in the group..." Faust tried to not look at anyone in particular though clearly reference the earlier tussle between Nehlya and Ryan "Or perhaps we found something?"

    ((Btw Love the new sig Nonfictionless do you have a link to that picture?))

    Duronos grinned. "I was hoping to wait until Nehlya and Erdin arrived, but aye, I found somethin! There's a hidden mechanism in a wall in the meeting hall's basement. It's connected to the sconce near it... Came up to grab you guys and get a light. Even with the torches on the wall it's dark down there. Can't find the keyhole!"

    The dwarf rolled his shoulders. "Just need te wait for the rest of the group an' we can get crackin'."

    The last few hours had been exactly what Morrowdawn had been worried about when he joined the group. Grossly different personalities, completely different methods for working and a multitude of dubious reasons to even be on this task.

    Vetreth sighed before continuing to search through various parts of the town. He didn't know what he was meant to be looking for and if he was completely honest this wasn't his strong point. He slammed his sword down into the floor of the room in frustration before sitting down. He was getting to old for this.

    He heard a bit of excitement coming from outside. Perhaps one of the others had found something.

    Nehlya departed the house as her search was ultimately fruitless. As she was ready to enter the next building, she saw the group meeting before the town hall. Darting towards them with her elven grace, she took place beside Duronos.

  10. #130
    Erdin was keeping himself at a few meters distance from the others, but still followed around.

    ((I'm here.))

  11. #131
    The dwarf clapped his hands together. "Well, now that everyone's here, follow me."

    Duronos lead the group into the meeting hall, grabbing a second torch while heading down. He headed over to the sconce where he left the other torch. Taking the newer one in hand he brought it close to the wall, searching for that elusive keyhole. After about a minute's searching he found a part of the wall that did not appear natural. No, in fact it had a small slit, which to many in the group would appear similar to a crack but could not fool a dwarf's eyes, which a key could conceivably fit into.

    Without looking up from the hole, to make sure he didn't lose it, he opened his hand palm up and waved it in Ryan's direction. "The key, if you don't mind, lad."

    Ryan followed the dwarf down the stairs and into the basement, careful to follow in his steps exactly. If this was indeed a secret room there were sure to be a few more security measures than a few unremarkable warlocks. He began scanning the floors and the walls. Looking for anything out of place. Missing tiles, elevated or lowered portions of the floor (same for the walls), nicks in the stone and wood that might form a pattern, generally anything a normal farming town like this should not contain. During his scan he simply said, "Wait a moment. Moving hastily would be inadvisable."

    The paladin sighed. "Lad, I looked through this room extensively. There's nothin' here but dust. Judging by the intricacy of this system, the warlocks couldn't have built this place. It was probably built along with this town, originally used as an escape tunnel should somethin' attack and was forgotten by the village, then found and re-purposed by the warlocks. If there'll be any traps, they'll be in the re-purposed section o' the tunnel. Now quit yer bellyaching and give me the key."

    Ryan handed over the key and stepped a few paces back. While the dwarf opened the door he weighed his thoughts of alerting this fool to any traps he might miss. He would of course but it helped to think down these paths to see the downside to them before ever actually doing them.

    The paladin turned the key in the lock and as it clicked, a pair of dull thumps echoed through the room as the section of wall swung free of its lock, revealing a tunnel large enough for three men to walk abreast gently sloping down into the earth.

    It was pitch black. Nothing could be seen or heard. "Told ye." said the dwarf, proudly. He took a lit torch. "Some of ye grab some extras. Who knows, we might need 'em. Come on, we've got a job to do."

    Without further adue, the dwarf walked into the tunnel, ready for whatever came ahead.

    Grabbing a torch, Nehlya followed behind Duronos. She continued to eye Ryan up, noting his movements and of a possible way to disable him if the situation.. rose to that.

    "You should know better to be so.. unruly, human. Questioning authority is not going to help us find Delmhollow, you should know this.", she spoke in a condescending tone, as she rested her other hand upon the grip of her glaive encase he was brash enough to strike at her. She rolled her eyes, ensuring that it was visible, before a grin appeared on her face.

    "Says the elf who kills prisoners of war? You think the villagers had no relatives? They wouldn't want justice? We have laws for a reason. You think you know better than the Grand Alliance? No. Our personal argument can wait till after this is done. Unless you truly don't care about stopping this madman and want him to succeed you will calm yourself and focus on the mission at hand." He wanted to let this argument go for the sake of the mission but the incompetence and un-due arrogance of this pathetic elf was trying even his patience. But he kept calm, his voice even and his face expressionless and fell in line with the group. He flipped his cloak around back to it's normal dark black. And began focusing intently on the floor, walls, and ceilings looking for any signs of traps.

    "Ah shut it, the both of ye" grumbled Duronos. That elf didn't know when to quit and Ryan... well Ryan wasn't that bad, but the dwarf was tired of painstaking searching and inaction. Every time they learned something new about these warlocks, which to be fair wasn't exactly much, they seemed all the more serious. The dwarf just wanted to get this job over with and relax.

    "Come on, let's go." said the dwarf, as he led the group into the bowels of the earth.

    ~~~
    It felt like hours since the group had started down the tunnel, which was ever so slightly angled downward, leading them deeper and deeper into the earth, the only light being from the pair of torches they held.
    Ever so slightly, they began to hear noises; the sound of cloth and leather shoes moving about on a hard stone floor, the mumble of voices. A light shone ahead. As the group got closer, they could tell that the pathway forward was caved in, but to their left, they could see a new tunnel had been made. Duronos held up a hand to stop the group. Taking a peek around the corner, he saw a large cave, filled with warlocks and almost every kind of demon imaginable. Voidwalkers and felguards patrolled around clusters of warlocks, imps, and succubi with felhounds on chained leashes. These warlocks, along with their minions, were huddled over what looked like wheat, but gave off a disturbing stench... There was even a Dreadlord there, blocking what looked like a tunnel out of the large cavern, his arms crossed and his gaze towards the warlocks, almost as if he was an overseer.
    This wouldn't be easy.
    Duronos got out of dodge and turned back towards the group. "Well, this doesn't look good."
    Ryan sidestepped around the group and flattened against the wall just to the side of the opening. He took his own quick glance but he wasn't concerned with the warlocks or the demons as he was sure Duronos focused solely on them. He counted the light sources and mapped the layout of the room in his head. After a few seconds he moved back.
    (( Well well Maddy. How is this room laid out =P))
  20. #140
    ((It's laid out like most rooms. A little bit of fel magic here, a little bit of felpuppy drool there... very zen.))
    ((In seriousness the entrance and exit are on the opposite ends of a long hall-like cavern. The floor isn't hewn out so the floor is not a flat surface. Same with the walls and ceiling, the latter of which has naturally-formed stalactites. The floor also has stalagmites and some crater-like formations randomly about the room, which house that wheat-like stuff I mentioned in my previous post. The light in the room comes from a good number of torches on the walls where the warlocks could affix a sconce, as well as on some stalactites and stalagmites. There are also a number of fel crystals (not unlike those used by blood elves) floating in the air, giving off light.))
