    Why didn't Jaina attack Rommath?

just finished the Horde version of the Dalaran purge, and while it's better in quality (imho), doesnt it seems strange that Jaina never fights Rommath? He takes over the middle of the city and she literally patrols around it in a circle. they'd make eye contact if she titled her head to the side a bit.

He even leaves the middle about three times, to get there, to check the Alliance place, and to go free Aethas, but they still never meet. Missed opportunity for an archmage fight.

And leave the whole circle unpatrolled? Jaina may be angry, but she is not crazy!

She was too busy picking on civilians to fight somebody her own size, I guess.

I don't remember the event quite well, but Rommath probably had a lot of powerfull guards with him, while Jaina was on her own.

Then again, didn't she want to only imprison the blood elves? If she attacked Rommath, than Silvermoon would go into war with her.

Why didnt Frodo take the eagles to fly to mordor?

The timelines do not coincide. Just like the Horde Theramore scenario takes place before the mana bomb, the Alliance one takes place afterwards.

Do remember a particular time when she held back the lich king for a duration of time, to allow us (players) to flee. I'm sure she could tear any of us a new arsehole if she wanted to.

Uh... because Jaina never found out that Rommath was there? It's simple: Jaina gets angry, send the Alliance players to start the purge/eliminate dangerous individuals while the Silver Covenant/Alliance forces are readying themselves. We leave, Horde players arrive with Rommath, Rommath does what's possible to do to save as many as he can without alerting Jaina/Silver Covenant of his presence.

Jaina and Rommath never meet. Actually, Rommath goes out of his way to not meet her and get out of there as quickly as possible.

Best answer. Story > common sense.

She teleports you to Violet Citadel and you must fight Archmage Landa'lock (the guy who gave dailies to kill dungeon/raid monsters back in WotLK) to escape.

Because its about a good story, not sense in the first place.

If you attack that crazy Mage girl you get instantly teleported into the Violet Prison or whatever its called, you can leave the building with a right click, nothing bad.

The eagles would be corrupted by the ring as anyone else. They wouldn't even get close to the mountain of doom, since the ring's calling was stronger the more they got nearer it. In the end, the eagle would use the ring, either becoming a servant of Sauron or making it easier for Sauron to locate and get the ring back.

So basically engaging her isn't part of the storyline?

Did I say she was weak? No. What I said is that she chose to use her strength to bully and kill tradesmen and innkeepers instead of fight an archmage at or near her own level. Which she did.

It's not. It's more of an atmospheric thing.

What people forget is that Dalaran is much, much larger than it is depicted in the game (just like every other city). Jaina patrolling the city doesn't necessarily place her anywhere near Rommath, even though the game depicts it this way. The game version of the city is limited in its scope. There is only so much space to cram her patrol path and Rommath's infiltration HQ. Dalaran is probably on par with lower Manhattan. If you look at it on that scale, it is easy to see how they'd miss each other, especially when Rommath wants to avoid her.

The eagles are intelligent beings, not slaves to someone. The eagles wouldn't gain anything by going to a very dangerous adventure across the mountain, they didn't owe Frodo anything.
