Activision Blizzard stocks UP 11.19 % in ONE day after the earning calls.

Today ATVI stock jumped 11.19% after the earnings call of yesterday.

Macquarie upgraded the stock from Neutral to Outperform.

Investors were impressed with the overall revenue performance.

    Anyone has stocks ?

IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WOW (it remained unchanged anyways)

If you look at the 3-5 year chart, ATIV isnt a stock that will wildly go up ot down, its a pretty constant stock. The reason one would invest in ATVI is that it has a strong dividend program. (iirc 0.19$ share this year)

the major driving force this year is the performance of Skylanders swappables (the whole toy business is good), COD still being on track for china in 2013 and more importantly they had a very high yield on revenues (26% iirc; good business management) which makes acquisitions (new IP, etc) possible if needed.

    Yep.

Apparently having the only game left in house with multi million subscriptions wakened up stock traders. The fixed income over the free to play model in stocks like Zynga is turning tables.

    Huh.

Because of what they said about Launchin Skylanders in china and them working on a new CoD game. Don't cream your pants guys it's not because of Blizzard.

... too late... BenBos probably already did.

Its not because of what blizzard has done.
Its more about their new line in skylanders and the new COD.

Well, it IS in contrast with Zynga games and their free to play stuff.

Subscriptions have been a fixed income for the stock and as of now, WOW is the only kid in town with this regular income.

I predicted that this would happen.

One eye in the land of the blind as we would call it.

Having 9.6 million paying subs while the rest of the MMORPG industry turned (mostly) F2P and you have this lucrative market to you alone.

It is a question of market posession really.

Why would a stock gain 10% on unchanged subs numbers?...right no reason at all. Wow is a cash cow but it doesnt make the ATVI stock go up/down. The COD China, Skylanders, New IP etc does. Especially with a disappointing Wii U and no new consoles, skylanders reaching 100million units sold is what investors are looking at.

any sound investor would tell you that the subs number is disappointing. Why? Not because it doesnt generate a fuck ton of money but because the number is stagnant ....meaning Blizz's performance has shown that 10million is the CAP for this MMO and that it probably wont ever see significant growth in the future. AS an investor, you're always looking for GROWTH (not stable revenues). ATVI is successful because it has proven it can use the cash from Blizz to create new IP's like Skylander and grow them into a 1 billion dollar business.

Sigh. I meant more-so just giving a link or something like it.

I mean, yeah, you can google something or easily look up stocks, but in your time here a majority of the forums won't believe a single thing unless there's some sort of credible "evidence" in the force of a website or something.

Well, other people posting in this thread do make a good point: ATVI doesn't COMPLETELY depend on WoW as a cash cow.

I hate to agree with him, but as Cybran said they do have other lucrative sales like CoD obviously, and Skylanders.

Because of those amazing sales, that's also why.

I wouldn't doubt though that their MMO that has gained over a billion dollars every year for the past few years has an effect on it though.

    Glad to have helped.

The interesting thing is that I already said in advance the stocks would rocket. A pity haters didn't believe that it is ALL a question of markets and their overall position , not of in game issues.

As all those others abandoned the subscription market, it is good to be the King of subscriptions.

That's all that matters. Nice to know ALL these games gathered ALL 2.2 to 4.5 ratings of so called users on Metacritic... "users"

So far the influence of the trash talkers ...

This just proves the points made in the other thread about the self proclaimed stock expert who predicts ATVI to fail within a years period.
WoW numbers are slightly down, yet the ATVI stocks go up.
As for the source.. That's quite simple. Type in Google ATVI stock
BAM.. it pops automatically up. Don't even have to hit Enter.

I guess because the ATVI stock includes WoW which is lucrative and, I mean if you can spin it this way, shows a positive influence of WoW at least in a financial manner.

My argument for it, at least.
