Have you ever noticed the leaders of the Kirin tor are always Human? why?

Note: The high elves was the ones that taught them the Arcane

Because the humans are the best at everything /rolls eyes.

    Better than everyone at everything.

Even anduin is going to lead the army of the light, rather than any draenei...

Humans get all the sweet lore jobs by virtue of some cosmic destiny.

racist with your "they're coming over stealing our jobs" talk :P

Seriously though, I think it was put upon Humans after the Troll wars when the humans helped the High Elves out over establishing Quel'thalas as their homeland. High Elves taught humans magic as thanks... or something liek that. As far as I remember Draenei were not around at the time, Dwarfs and Gnomes were totally uninterested in magic.. they love their tech and Orcs we're still living it up on Draenor.

You can tell who plays Horde in this thread, that's for sure.

It's because humans a. controlled Dalaran to begin with, and b. are a "majority" race in Azeroth. There are more humans than blood/high elves. Night elves do not tend to dabble in the arcane arts, and beyond themselves and perhaps orcs few races match the numbers that humans have population wise.

Because Dalaran is a Human Kingdom?
It has a substantial amount of other races there (excluding one of them now ) because of it's status as a Mage City which means it also functions as a Mage school and because the High Elves helped to found they were given a place there.

    1. Not even remotely the same thing.

    2. My issue is more with Blizzard making everything about orcs and humans, to a lesser extent elves and dwarves get some attention, but the res of the races might as well not even exist.

    3. Yeah but we've had new leaders for the Kirin Tor TWICE in the past few years and both times they've picked the strongest mage... which has been human.

And if you add up the total number of strong lore mages...

    You have...

    Kael...

    and humans.

    It's kind of dumb.

While main figureheads of the Kirin Tor (A human organization) have been human, Dalaran and its holdings are governed by the Council of Six, which has included elves and dragons among their number before. High elves taught them magic, yes, but that doesn't mean they gain any rights to lead a human faction.

    They are not always human.

    www.wowpedia.org/The_Six

There have been elves in there, hell, even a dragon.

As for the main leader of Dalaran. It's a human kingdom. So it isn't strange that the head of the council has always been human.

You're changing too many variables, Forsaken haven't had a change of leader, and undeath is a broad category.

The six is not the leader.

The six were a secret council up until Wotlk.

The leader was always a person like Antonidas, or Rhonin, or Jaina.

Korialstrasz, Kalecgos, Malygos, Illidan (Yes, he practiced arcane arts before he was a demon hunter, admittedly debatable), Me'dan (if you want to count him), Cho'gall, Dentarg...

Illidan was more of a warlock even before he went full demonhunter and I make it a point not to count the dragons because while they use arcane they're not really... 'mages' in that it's sort of hardcoded into them, and also, as non-mortals for most of the game they're not even relevant to most of the things and most players wouldn't want one in a leadership position posing as one of their race, though you could make the argument for them.

Ogre-mages are a fair point though even though they're called 'mages' they sit closer to warlock territory and none of them were renowned for being -mages- they were renowned for delving into dark powers.

Hell, Dentarg explicitly got his ass handed to him by Khadgar, another example of the humans being shown as supreme at anything they try.

Dalaran is/was a human kingdom, just like Gilneas, Lordaeron, Kul Tiras, Stromgarde, Alterac, and Stormwind.

It is only natural that the rulers of a kingdom are of the same race as their citizens.

You have to realize that in the Warcraft universe, Humans controlled nearly EVERYTHING in the Eastern Kingdoms prior to the invasion of the Orcs. Even after the Second War, the Seven Kingdoms were the strongest power on Azeroth. It took the combined assault of the Undead and the betrayal of Prince Arthas (causing the other Kingdoms to lose trust in one another) to shatter the Humans' stranglehold on the Eastern Kingdoms.

Humans are like rabbits in most fantasy universes, and Warcraft is no different. Even now, I'd wager there are far more Humans on Azeroth than any other form of intelligent life (possibly excluding the Silithid).

It isn't some sense of "Human bias" that makes Blizzard write it this way... they write it with the Humans as the dominant force on Azeroth because the original premise was "WarCraft: Orcs vs Humans". The Orcs were an evil race invading Azeroth (or Eastern Kingdoms, what they thought was the entirety of Azeroth) and fighting against THE dominant race, the Humans. The Dwarves, Elves, and Gnomes existed and got token appearances, but it was made very clear that the Humans outnumbered all of them in absurd proportions.
