When you had to physically discover each flight path before you could use it.

It made sense from a logistics stand point - you have to know where you're going on the flying mount...

But I'm glad they changed it. Now I just pretend the gryphons know where they're going.

maybe I'm wrong, but wasn't there an "out of combat" ress, so some chars stayed out of combat to ress people?
    also, crafted ammo..

Before your time kiddo. Druids players would rejuv their groups then quickly run to the window to make no dinosaurs were attacking, then run back to their keyboards to refresh the rejuvs.

This thread just reminds me how many things were unnecessarily retarded in vanilla. Good riddance to most of these things. I don't miss most of it.

Oh btw, my Tauren hunter walked that because I wanted a snow leopard as a pet, and well crap, Dun Morogh was their home. But I didn't make it without dying <.< (That was walking from Undercity to "nearly" Gnomeregan at level 10)
Hah, interesting. My dwarf hunter wanted a bat pet, and well, those are in Tirisfal. I was terrified out of my wits, I knew horde was there (pvp server also (of course we never saw a hint of horde, unless you count my unfortunate meeting with Brill npcs)). I asked my level 30 or what was it friend to escort me, because clearly then I'd be safe.

    Anyway, that journey was interesting.

Remember how bat pets had their screeching attack, and they would continuously screech driving the entire raid completely mad?

I'm with you man, but most those things weren't just in vanilla - Tbc, and even WOTLK had a lot of pointless things. If in 6 years wow still exists, we'll make a thread to remember all the pointless and retarded shit from mop.

I miss the old "druid code" back from vanilla (anyone who played a druid back then knows what i mean)
The code was a lie. Druids couldn't kill anything, not even other Druids so they just didn't bother trying. ;p. I still remember the day when noticed that my bestfriend's balance hit for the same in cat form as I did in feral. Only difference was my shred cost less so I could do it more often... That moment started my alting syndrome.

I remember sitting for hours in the city and looking for the last person for Kara runs... And don't even get me started on attunement runs, lol.

Oh god. The crocs. And the orcs. And the murlocs. And the slimes. And the spiders. *cringe*

Also, defense rating. Teehee. I remember making a tank and after getting full gear for it, 539. D:

Oooh and old windfury totem. 8') And relics that actually did stuff.

I renember one evening before naxx raid inn classic helping my mate farming soul shards inn EPL quickly, before raid started.

Just little things you tend to renember hehe.
One reason for WoW decline I often hear is that its an old game and naturally people get bored with it. But TV is much older and people still watch that. Surely if a thing you once enjoyed keept staying fun, you would still use it?

In general when levelling as a healer was akin to eating your own leg off with a spoon...

I leveled my druid as resto in Vanilla.. I remember moaning at my friend who had a mage at the time, how hard it was to do the 55-60 grind in silithus, as it was taking so long to kill the bugs I could not actually get into the caves before being swamped.

I then compared xp/hour from mob killing between my resto druid (6-7k per hour) and his mage (35-45k / per).. at that point I downed tools, and demanded he boost me !

Reg + rej + bear form then alt-tab out of the game for 2 mins... most painless way to level TBH. slow.. but at least you got other things done as a healer.
    esr

As other have mentioned the Wetland lowbie run was always fun ..><

I remember as a moonkin raiding, being able to chug mana pot after mana pot (they didn't call us oomkins for nothing) before they restricted you to one pot per fight or 2 if you pre pot (though you wouldn't pre pot a mana potion lol)

having only Hurricane as your aoe spell, and it having a 1 minute cooldown ><

entangling roots not working in doors, so only having cyclone as CC.... yeah cyclone as CC.. /sigh

Starfire spam whilst keeping insect swarm up and having to spec IFF... for a rotation (so thankful they gave us a makeover in wotlk)

Hardly a decent bit of spell leather, all our BIS gear was cloth, and no one would let us roll on cloth! So having to do arena to get certain slots filled with *decent* spell leather items. Just to keep competitive in raids.

REAGENTS! ung mah gawd. Having all other druids spam with trade forcing resgents on me because I was the one that always remembered to buff lol.

Having Combat rezz queue orders set up with the other druids in the raid, so we wouldn't waste rezzes (incase 2 druids used a rezz on the same person at the same time)

Having to go to Uldaman to train enchanting, having to go to Scholo to make flasks.. until TBC and you could use the alchemy table in Shattraths Lower city

I think the games in a much better place now

Bitch please, rank 4 healing touch is where it is at. Chugging mana pots like no tomorrow, innervating priests. Spam that healing macro with a set health threshold, that would automatically stop if target was above said threshold.

When you still knew where the dungeons were located in the world?
I still know where the new dungeons are at in the world.... :I

Playing a warlock and thinking I was pro because I could seduce then soul fire back to back and win with ease.

Most likely the wisest Enhancement Shaman.

    ... when hots didn't stack!
Nothing worth having comes easy. That's why hard content is worth doing, and easy content is a waste of time.
